Spokane College Of English Language:
The Spokane College of English Language (SCEL) invites the world to study English in Spokane, Washington, USA. SCEL offers Intensive English training as well as an EAP program. Completion of SCEL EAP meets English entry requirement for the Spokane Community College undergraduate programs. Spokane is located on the east side of Washington stateand has a population of 450,000. With a 4-season climate and year-round recreation, the Spokane area is truly the outdoor enthusiast's playground. Countless lakes, 4 major rivers, 13 ski areas, numerous hiking and biking trails, and 75 parks citywide offer many impressive options.
Intensive/Super Intensive English
English program designed to improve overall competency in English. This program is intended to prepare students for entry into Spokane Community College programs and future university studies. In the morning students study all skills (Reading / Writing / Listening / Speaking / Grammar). There are three levels, from Elementary to Advanced. An important component of the program focuses on improving writing skills - from basic sentence construction to different essay formats. Each level is 12 weeks long. Students move up based on progress within the class and final exams in writing, speaking, listening, reading and grammar.
Certificate/Diploma in English
The Certificate in English Program is a 12 week academic program for students seeking proficiency in English. This program is perfect for a student wishing to take international or U.S. Exams. Strict rules regarding attendance, assignments and class participation. A Diploma is issued to students who have completed the 2 levels of Certificate in English program which is 24 weeks total. Students study all skills (Reading / Writing / Listening / Speaking / Grammar). There are three levels, from Elementary to Advanced. Each level is 12 weeks long. Students move up based on progress within the class and final exams in writing, speaking, listening, reading and grammar.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
The Spokane Community College has a partnership agreement with SCEL whereby students can study EAP courses at SCEL. Completion of EAP meets English entry requirement for the Spokane Community College undergraduate programs. English for Academic Purposes (EAP) provides advanced ESL students with the opportunity to improve their academic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Upon completion of EAP students are able to analyze academic materials critically and to express themselves fluently, accurately and logically, both orally and in writing.
