Music Production
The Music Production Program provides students with extensive experience in the latest techniques and equipment in our state-of-the-art recording facility. Technology classes, combined with music composition and performance courses give our Music Production graduates the creative and technical skills of a modern record producer.
Songwriting
The Songwriting Program is a unique curriculum that trains students to become successful songwriters and performers. Students study composition and lyric writing in a variety of styles to prepare them for the demands of professional songwriters.
Contemporary Performance
The Contemporary Performance Program is designed to train students for successful performance careers in today’s commercial music industry. The Performance degree at the Cornel School of Contemporary Music is divided into concentrated instrument majors: Piano/Keyboard, Bass, Drums, Guitar, Vocal, and Woodwind.
Contemporary Christian & Worship Music (CCM & Worship)
The CCM & Worship program is a unique degree program that combines theological courses with music classes to prepare students for careers as music ministers and worship leaders. Cornel School of Contemporary Music is in a special position to provide professional, contemporary music instruction within the context of a Christian education program.
Contemporary Composition
The Contemporary Composition program prepares students for careers as composers and arrangers in the modern entertainment industry. Student composers work one-on-one with our renowned faculty in a state-of-the-art facility to learn techniques that are used to create music for the concert stage, theatrical performances and in the recording studio.
Film Scoring
The Film Scoring program at the Cornel School of Contemporary Music at Shepherd University engages students in the study and practice of music for visual media; film, television and advertising.

We offer a wide variety of degrees and areas of concentration in the field of contemporary music. Taught from an in-home studio in Riverside CA, Professional Guitar Lessons from Jeff Brent give you everything you need to start off your guitar playing career, or continue where you left off. Courses / Programs
Conveniently located at the corner of Market and Powell in downtown San Francisco, The College of Extended Learning at San Francisco State University provides a variety of music business and recording industry classes which are open to everyone. You can select any class that interests you, or follow our Music/Recording Industry academic certificate program. Our downtown campus is directly on the Powell Street BART and Muni lines, and close to affordable parking.Designed for students who want to gain a solid foundation in the music business and/or recording industry, this program offers a comprehensive education in all aspects of the music business. Students choose an emphasis on either the recording arts/technology or the music business, which enables them to acquire real marketable skills to compete successfully in a fiercely intense environment.
All certificate students are required to complete a professional internship as well as a portfolio of projects such as audio engineering demos or music business and marketing plans. In addition, students can select from a number of electives and seminars for the most comprehensive music industry education in the San Francisco Bay Area. Coursework in the program may be applied toward the certificate, or individual classes may be taken to learn or update skills.
- Music/Recording Industry (MRI) academic certificate program: Choose an emphasis in either the recording arts/technology or the music business. All students must complete a professional internship.

The Colburn School, Los Angeles

The Colburn School is a non-profit independent institution located in downtown Los Angeles, Southern California consisting of two divisions: the Colburn School of Performing Arts (CSPA) and the Conservatory of Music (CCM). The Conservatory of Music is a highly-selective college offering classical instrumental music training at the baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate levels. The Colburn School is a community-based school that provides music, dance and drama training from introductory to advanced levels to students from ages preschool through adult. The Conservatory of Music is predominantly college-age students. As an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music, we offer a curriculum that includes a rigorous academic program. The school selects unique and gifted musicians and supplies room and board and tuition. Students must audition for admission. The application process for non-U.S. citizens is the same as that for U.S. citizens.
