Young Nebraska Scientists:
The Young Nebraska Scientists program offers summer science camps at college and university campuses throughout Nebraska. Our camps for middle and high school students take place at the University of Nebraska (Lincoln), Doane College (Crete), and Creighton University (Omaha). YNS will increase participants' technological, scientific, and quantitative literacy, place strong emphasis on closing achievement gaps, and increase scientific student participation. We aim to provide opportunities for Nebraska middle and high school students to learn science through science-related activities, and to explore a combination of science, technology and society with the guidance of scientific and academic experts.
Middle School Camps:
Nano: The Science of Small:
Duration: 1 week

Nanoscientists study and make new applications that improve computers, medical treatments, energy efficiency and more.
Algae and Biofuels:
Duration: 1 week
Location: Doane College, Crete NE
Students participating in this event will enjoy 300-acres of lush grounds, ponds, winding paths, historical buildings and new facilities. Participants learn the basics of biofuels and algal biology.
High School Camps:
Light in the Nano World:
Duration: 3 days
Location: University of Nebraska, Lincoln NE
Participants in this camp learn how lasers and optics work - including the basic operational principles of lasers, fundamental properties of light, and the role they play in our daily lives from LCD monitors, 3-D movies, sunglasses, to internet data transmission.
Going Green! Algae for Biofuels:
Duration: 3 days

This 3-day camp introduces students to today's energy challenges and how algae biofuels could play an important role in developing sustainable energy resources.
Biodiversity: Field Science at the Cedar Point Biological Station:

Students explore the biodiversity of local habitats, both terrestrial and aquatic, and be exposed to a variety of research techniques used in field biology.

• The International Summer Camp UK delivers Camp Cooper, a residential summer camp designed for boys and girls ages 7-17 from the UK and around the world.• Based in the picturesque village of Crieff, just an hour's drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh, Camp Cooper offers exciting activities, high quality English language tuition and the opportunity to meet new friends. Situated in the heart of rural Iowa (45 minutes north of Ames), Hidden Acres provide a wide range of Christian summer camp programs for kids ages 5-18. Our traditional, activity-based Residential summer programs last for 1 week, and feature a variety of fun indoor and outdoor activities. We also provide S.W.E.A.T. International Language Camps, French Alps

• Celebrating our 20th anniversary, International Language Camps is a European camp for children and teenagers ages 6 to 17 years old from around the world. • We offer holidays and vacations with a multitude of activities and a complete language teaching program, all in the heart of the French Alps.
• Our summer and winter camps give children the possibility to develop their linguistic skills in French or English and discover new activities and cultures.
• Our language programs offer an opportunity to learn a foreign language but also encourage campers to discover new cultures, to make new friends from around the world , to value different activities, to learn to live and work with others, to get involved with an international community and, most importantly, to blossom with this success.
• The camps take place in Megève, a French ski resort in the Savoy Alps, close to Switzerland and Italy. The nearest international airport is Geneva (only 75km away). We can provide transfers from the airport.
