Summer Science Camps in Nebraska

Contact Our School

Young Nebraska Scientists:
The Young Nebraska Scientists program offers summer science camps at college and university campuses throughout Nebraska. Our camps for middle and high school students take place at the University of Nebraska (Lincoln), Doane College (Crete), and Creighton University (Omaha). YNS will increase participants' technological, scientific, and quantitative literacy, place strong emphasis on closing achievement gaps, and increase scientific student participation. We aim to provide opportunities for Nebraska middle and high school students to learn science through science-related activities, and to explore a combination of science, technology and society with the guidance of scientific and academic experts.

Why Choose Young Nebraska Scientists?

-  Unforgettable Scientific Experience
Your week-long experience culminates in a team-oriented poster presentation allowing you to demonstrate what you have learned and accomplished to your peers, parents, and University faculty, staff, and students.

-  Hands-On Science Training
You will also interact with scientists, visit labs, take field-trips, and attend recreational activities.

-  Become Part of the Scientific Community
You will be a part of creating a new community of students of science, learn what science is all about, and actually do science.

Experienced & Qualified Instructors:
YNS summer camps require an 8:1 maximum student to instructor ratio. At least one camp instructor must be a Nebraska Certified science teacher in the grade level of the particular camp (a science endorsement in the main STEM field of the camp preferred).
