Spring & Summer Leadership Programs in Texas
Lone Star Leadership Academy:
Based in Keller TX, Lone Star Leadership Academy provides spring break and summer academic leadership camps for outstanding 4th-8th grade students. Participants travel to Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin/San Antonio or Houston/Galveston to develop leadership skills and interactively experience what they are learning in school through visits to significant Texas sites. Bright, gifted and high-achieving students develop leadership skills and learn about the great state of Texas.
Leadership Camps for Outstanding 4th-8th Grade Students:
- Learn About Significant Texas Sites
Participants have the opportunity to learn about future career and internship opportunities, visit historically, scientifically and environmentally significant sites and be part of a rare academic experience. Upon completion of the program, each participant receives a Lone Star Leader Certificate of Merit to be added to his or her academic achievements.
- Lodging Provided
Lodging is at the Education in Action dormitories in Keller, Wimberley, and New Caney TX. Lone Star Leadership Academy participants and at least two program facilitators will be housed in a bunk style air-conditioned room.
- Elite Academic Participants
Participants must maintain an 85 or higher average and receive an educator recommendation based on demonstrated leadership ability. Program alumni are invited to join Education in Action’s Lone Star Youth Leadership Council.

Our History:
Education in Action was incorporated by Texas educators dedicated to actively involving students in learning Texas history, geography, science, government and citizenship. This organization was formed to support the Texas education system. In order to accomplish this goal, all programs have been created based on content in the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills established by the Texas Education Agency.

International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) - Operation Imagination Summer Camps
Courses / Programs
Located in McAllen, TX, the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) provides a wide range of STEAM based summer camp programs for children of grades 1-8. Topics for our unique 4-day summer camp courses include chemistry, creative writing, engineering, robotics, environmental science, and more! Registration fees include scheduled activities, supplies, a camp t-shirt, lunch, an afternoon snack, and exploration time in our exhibit spaces.
Our camps inspire and enrich the lives of children year after year. Campers don’t even realize they are learning because they’re having so much fun! Classes are held Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Before and after care is available at an additional cost.
Camps are divided into three classes by grade level: 1-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Each class has a maximum of 25 students. Our experienced Educators guide your child as they discover, create, and learn in Operation Imagination Summer Camps!
