Ashridge Business School:
Ashridge Business School, located 30 miles north west of London in Hertfordshire, England, is one of the world's leading business schools offering triple accredited Full Time Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Part Time Executive MBA (EMBA) degree programs. Our Full-time and Executive MBA programmes are consistently ranked within the UK’s top ten, and the top 20 in Europe. The Full-time MBA remains first in the world for salary increase.
One Year Full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA):
Central to our Full-time MBA is the belief that business functions should not be addressed in isolation. Managers require a broad, integrated range of business skills to negotiate the complexities of the business world with confi dence. The aim of the Ashridge Full-time MBA is to develop leadership capability among participants to achieve personal and organisational success. It is divided into four key stages:
- Stage One: Fundamentals
- Stage Two: Integration
- Stage Three: MBA project
- Stage Four: Electives
Assessment:
Assessment on the Full-time MBA includes a combination of examinations, written assignments and the MBA project. Unusually, exams make up the fi rst part of the formal assessment process and follow Stage One. All students must pass these exams in order to progress to Stage Two. Students are expected to complete six assignments in Stage Two – one individual assignment following each module, and a group assignment after the international study week. These assignments are then followed by the 10,000 word project. Additionally, students need to write two assignments during the electives phase of the programme, which takes place at the end of the year.
Two-year Executive MBA (Part Time EMBA):
The Two-year Executive MBA balances the need to develop both ‘hard’ business capabilities and ‘softer’ personal skills, by providing a thorough grounding in all the disciplines required to lead in business. As the programme progresses, the boundaries between the disciplines blur, refl ecting the integrative approach needed for organisational success. The Executive MBA focuses on six core areas that are introduced in Year One and developed in Year Two.
- Maximising human potential
- Shaping strategic direction
- Managing business finances
- Developing operational capability
- Leveraging information systems
- Building market focus
International study week:
This aims to consolidate your learning by experiencing business and economic life in another country. Recent study visits have included China and South Africa.
Assessment:
The practical bias on the Executive MBA is demonstrated by the inclusion of applied assignments and the live consultancy project. There are 13 assignments to complete in total (six in each year covering each of the six core subject areas, plus a group-based assignment linked to the international study week). There are diagnostic examinations at the end of Year One and final examinations at the end of Year Two.
