Educational Consortium Institute:
Educational Consortium Institute (ECI), located in Aptos (80 miles from San Francisco), California, is an English Language School offering short and long term English Language Study Abroad Programs for students aged 14 to 18. ECI was originally founded in 1993 and has been providing educational opportunities for international teens wanting to study in the United States. Students studying with ECI have dramatically improved their English language skills and have gone on to prestigious universities and careers. ECI provides programs both for the student wanting to study for a short time, and for the student wanting to study for one or more years at a U.S. high school.

Intensive / Immersion Programs:

Summer Intensive Program:
Summer Intensive Program is for serious students who want to focus on improving their reading, writing, speaking, and TOEFL score. Students that are currently in the United States or that want to attend on a B visa can join this program. Students have 17.5 hours of classroom instruction per week, along with afternoon activities. Participants reside in the school dormitories while they attend classes. On the weekends students participate in all trips to San Francisco, Montery, Carmel, Stanford University, U.C. Berkeley, Yosemite National Park, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, to name just a few.

Academic Preparation Program (open enrollment):
This program is designed for the student that wants to study in the U.S. but needs to quickly improve their English proficiency to either gain acceptance to a U.S. high school, or to successfully take academic classes in the fall. Students attend classes for 27.5 hours a week for maximum improvement.

American Culture and English Camp:
Educational Consortium Institute (ECI) is happy to offer international students an opportunity to learn about American culture and visit many of California’s most spectacular landmarks. Students interact with American teens every day and learn about American culture and share their own culture with American teens. ECI operates a summer camp in Northern California and a winter camp in San Diego of Southern California. Students have an opportunity to visit San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Stanford University, Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo and much, much more. Students have 12 hours of conversation instruction per week and communication practice with American teens each day. They have a dormitory stay with 18 meals per week.

Private High Schools (F-1 Visa) Year Long Program:
With ECI sponsorship and guardianship, students may apply and if accepted, enroll at our associate, private, co-educational, college-preparatory, high schools located in Southern California and Northern California. ECI can handle your sponsorship and guardianship at a number of schools.

Public Schools (F-1/J-1 Visa) Semester or Year Program:
ECI offers international students the opportunity to study for one semester or one year at a public high school throughout California on the F-1 visa or the J-1 visa.

Custom Programs for International Schools & Groups:
ECI designs custom programs for foreign schools, clubs, and organizations in both Northern and Southern California during the summer and winter. Programs can accommodate from 15 to 150 participants. ECI's custom programs vary in content and duration according to the interests and budgets of the group served.

One Year U.S. High School Diploma Program:
ECI has developed a new program to fit the needs of the many academically gifted and talented high school graduates that want to study at a U.S. university but lack the necessary language skills. Many high school graduates’ dreams end with a denial of admission. But now, ECI has developed a program where students can study in the U.S. for one year and graduate from a fully accredited college preparatory high school with a U.S. high school diploma. During the year of English and academic training, ECI will help the student to apply to and gain acceptance to a U.S. university.
