Beijing City International School:
Beijing City International School (BCIS), located in Central Beijing, China, is an accredited, independent, co-educational day school offering an international curriculum for Nursery to Grade 12 students. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School we are authorized to teach all three IB programmes (Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma).

Primary Years Program (Nursery – Grade 5):
Our elementary students at BCIS enjoy state of the art facilities which include spacious homerooms and specialist teaching areas. BCIS is an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) school, which is designed for students aged 3 to 12. The PYP focuses on the total growth of the developing child encompassing social, physical, emotional and cultural needs in addition to academic development.

Middle Years Program (Grade 6 – 10):
The Middle Years Programme is rigorous, skills driven and academically demanding. We aim to create an atmosphere where the students can develop the necessary abilities to become lifelong learners and where teachers also consider themselves in the same light. We offer a balanced curriculum from grade six through to grade ten and as our students explore the disciplines with increasing depth they will realise how they are linked to each other and connected with the wider world at the local, national and international level.

Diploma Program (Grade 11 – 12):
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a rigorous pre-university course of studies which meets the needs of highly motivated secondary school students between the ages of 16 and 19 years. The programme leads to examinations, but emphasis is also placed on externally assessed coursework as a way of balancing a range of different assessment styles. Designed as a comprehensive two-year curriculum that allows its graduates to fulfil the requirements of various national education systems, the diploma model is based on the pattern of no single country but incorporates the best elements of several. The programme is available in English, French and Spanish.
