Beijing International Bilingual Academy (BIBA):
Beijing International Bilingual Academy (BIBA), situated in the Shunyi area in the north-east of the city, is one of the fastest growing international day-schools in Beijing. The Academy provides a strong learning environment in both English and Chinese to children from Kindergarten through Middle School Grade 8. Over 400 students originating from over 20 countries study together within a school culture which promotes respect, cross-cultural understanding, creativity and of course, the joy of learning.

Our goal is to provide a high quality bilingual education which combines the best attributes of both Chinese and Western methods and styles. In addition, via academic and extra-curricular experiences, we continually help and encourage our students to build character so that they will grow to become well balanced and high achieving world citizens.

- Modern Facilities
In response to increasing enrolments, during 2011, BIBA rebranded and increased its campus size and facilities dramatically. It now comprises modern, purpose built departments for Kindergarten, Elementary and Middle Schools. Classrooms and facilities are spacious and well planned, with space still available for future growth.

The percentages of time spent learning in English and Chinese vary by department. In Kindergarten, young students have the best opportunity they can ever have to easily and naturally develop two languages.

We take advantage of having students at this amazing language-absorbing stage in their lives and therefore teach and play in both English and Chinese, about 50% of the time in each language. Through Elementary School, we begin the preparation for more “International” and therefore English language schooling, so instruction is about 70% in English and 30% in Chinese.

By Middle School, our students are studying 80% of the time in English and 20% in Chinese as they prepare for International High Schools in China or overseas. BIBA provides a first class International School education, but in addition ensures that its students can build strong, solid Chinese language ability at the same time.

Our goal is to provide a high quality bilingual education which combines the best attributes of both Chinese and Western methods and styles. Throughout BIBA’s Kindergarten, Elementary School and Middle Schools, instruction is in either English or Chinese according to the subject being taught.

Our English curriculum, covering language, science, mathematics, PE, music, art, social studies and more, is based on US national standards. Our Chinese curriculum follows the Chinese National Standards for Language Arts and Mathematics.
