New York Chinese Language Center:
New York Chinese Language Center (NYCLC) is a Mandarin Chinese language school located at 594 Broadway, Manhattan in New York City. We offer Mandarin Chinese classes for beginner & intermediate speakers, private Chinese lessons as well as corporate language training for companies. Our class sizes are kept small to ensure that each student gets the individual attenion that they need.

New York Chinese Language Center (NYCLC) offers the following Mandarin Chinese classes in Manhattan:

Mandarin Chinese Evening Courses for Beginners:
NYCLC teaches complete beginners to speak Mandarin Chinese fluently in just four months by applying innovative learning tools, organized teaching systems and practical course materials. The meticulously designed course materials are derived from real life situations, serving the needs of students from different age-groups with diverse objectives of learning. Through role-playing conversation practices, vocabulary building, grammar analysis and writing assignments, our students are able to make conversations in different scenarios, create sentences on their own, and to even write simple letters upon completion of this course.

The Mandarin phonetic systems of Hanyu Pinyin and Zhuyin are both explored in the classes, allowing students a comprehensive grasp of the precise pronunciation of each word and thus ensuring their accurate articulation.

Beginner I - 2 hours per week for 8 weeks:
Students will start exploring Mandarin and building solid foundation on accurate pronunciation and simple grammar with greeting, counting numbers, naming common objects and using proper classifiers.

Beginner II - 2 hours per week for 8 weeks:
Building on skills learned in Beginner’s Mandarin I, this class will continue to explore various sentence structures, auxiliary verbs, as well as building vocabulary and terms.

Mandarin Chinese Evening Classes for Intermediate-Level Speakers:
Following the course on beginner’s level, students may further advance their Mandarin speaking and writing abilities in our intermediate courses. With close attention on grammar analysis and sentence construction, we aim to improve the students’ conversation skills through methodically designed course content and exercises. Slang and commonly used terms in authentic everyday-life Mandarin would also be introduced as we continue the efforts on vocabulary building, allowing students better comprehension on customary conversations in Mandarin. Students will further explore Chinese characters at the meantime to improve their reading and writing skills.

Classes are held for 2 hours per week for 15 weeks.

Private Mandarin Chinese Lessons:
Learn Mandarin Chinese at your own pace with a curriculum tailored to your specific needs. The custom-designed lessons of our private tutoring program offer immense flexibility in both schedule and course content to meet the students’ goals and purposes of learning. Whether you want to learn Mandarin for traveling, business, or personal interest, NYCLC may alter or elaborate our systematic course content and exercises based on your current level to bring you effective results.

Students at intermediate or advanced levels may also utilize our private program to further polish your Mandarin speaking, reading and writing skills.

Corporate Mandarin Chinese Training:
NYCLC will custom design a systematic curriculum just for you and your staff after identifying the needs that are vital to your business and the level of proficiency in Mandarin Chinese that you would like to reach. Our syllabus may include the terminologies commonly seen in your industry, proper business grammar, conversation practices, as well as basic reading and Chinese typing exercises.
