English Encounters is a small English language school that provides an intimate and friendly atmosphere in which to improve your English language skills. English Encounters is located in downtown Burlington in the Greater Toronto Area in Southern Ontario on the north shore of Lake Ontario, between Toronto and Hamilton (Less than one hour south of Toronto by train or car). We are dedicated to providing the highest quality intensive English language courses where the emphasis is on communication. Individual attention is our first priority and at English Encounters we make sure you receive the attention you need in a comfortable and convenient setting near Toronto.
The school was founded in 1996 by Lesley Bogue and has grown steadily since then. In 2009 the school was taken over by the Sprachenzentrum Wöhler e.K. Germany. We renamed the school English Encounters in 2010 and will be relocating to downtown Burlington in April 2010. Our students come from all around the world, so there is always a variety of cultures present in each classroom. You will not only meet Canadians, but make friends with people from many places and many cultures.
All of our teachers are certified ESL professionals with lots of experience. They are chosen for their personalities as well as their qualifications. We believe that friendly, enthusiastic and patient teachers are essential and they want your stay to be happy and educationally rewarding.

Testing and Certificate:
When you arrive, you will take a test to determine your level and to help your teacher prepare your individual study plan. Upon full and successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate and progress report from the Bronte Language Centre.
We offer you different types of accommodation to choose from:

All of our host families are carefully chosen by our staff who visit the family and view your bedroom and facilities. You will have a comfortable single room or a double room if you prefer. Many of our homes are within walking distance from the school. You will live as one of the family and have breakfast and dinner each day.

We will meet you at Toronto Airport and take you to your host family.

ECSL is an independent Quality English ESL school for adults owned and managed by ESL instructors since 1998.
