Based in Ripon, North Yorskshire, my name is Elizabeth Grieve and I offer one-to-one tuition in English as a foreign language online in a virtual classroom. All study materials will be provided, and emailed to you before each lesson, or if you wish to use a coursebook this can be discussed. For virtual lessons, you need broadband internet access, a headset with microphone, and a webcam. The free software used will provide an online classroom, with a webcam view of your teacher, a whiteboard and file storage. Courses are tailored to the student's individual needs. Fully qualified and widely experienced, I can provide English tuition whatever your needs. I have successfully taught hundreds of students over the years, in all aspects of English from speaking, listening, reading and writing to grammar, punctuation as well as Business.

Lessons are provided ONLINE using free, easy to download software for voice and webcam communication, with a virtual whiteboard and shared files.

A standard lesson is 1 hour long (please ask if you prefer a shorter or longer time). You will learn easily and quickly with interesting and varied lessons, offering lots of conversation, with the emphasis on good pronunciation.

Worksheets will be emailed to you a few days before each lesson.

If you wish I can recommend suitable books for your own study in addition to lesson materials.

Aviation English:
Industry Requirement. For those working in the airline industry as pilots or air traffic controllers, it is now necessary to be tested in English language proficiency.

You should have a basic knowledge of English to begin with. Your level will be assessed following an informal chat with your teacher.

An indivual lesson plan will be made for each student, using a variety of aviation-related situations, and the emphasis will be on speaking and listening.
