International Kindergarten & Primary School in Tokyo

Jingumae International Exchange School, Tokyo:
Situated in the Shibuya-ku area close to downtown Tokyo, Jingumae International Exchange School is an international private school that serves children in Kindergarten and Primary / Elementary School. Following the British National Curriculum across all disciplines, we provide students with a high quality international education from ages 3 through 12. Our curriculum is complimented by the International Schools' Assessment Program which allows us to provide standardised assessments from Year 3 and up which are internationally recognised. On top of this, classes are timetabled with Japanese lessons, which, depending on the ability of the individual, follow Kokugo, or JAL (Japanese as an additional language).

International Preschool / Primary School Programs:

Early Years Foundation Stage:
In JIES Kindergarten 4-5, the learning objectives are based on the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). In accordance with EYFS frameworks, we cover six areas in our program:

- Communication, Language and Literacy
- Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World
- Physical Development
- Creative Development

Primary / Elementary School Curriculum:
In Grades 1 & 2, the ‘Key Stage 1’ syllabus is used, and from Grade 3 up, the ‘Key Stage 2’ syllabus is used.

- To prepare pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life
- To promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society
