ISM - International School of Management:
International School of Management (ISM) in Paris, France, is a private, fully accredited American graduate school offering Master of Business Administration (MBA), doctorate and PhD degree programs with an emphasis on International Business Management. At ISM Paris candidates create their own curriculum based on their professional interests, and our degree programs are designed to be compatible with senior managers’ busy lifestyles. Students can fulfill their classroom requirements through study in Paris, and our international campuses in New York, Shanghai and Tokyo, although it is not necessary to takes classes in each city.
The Paris seminars are scheduled at least once a month from September to June. A two week program is held every summer at St. John’s University in New York City, another two week program is conducted at Amity University in New Delhi and another two week session of every year with ISM's strategic partnerships in Shanghai. ISM is the only business school that provides students with the opportunity to study in Paris, New York, New Delhi and/or Shanghai at no additional tuition fees.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program:
- 33 coursework credits (22-23 seminars), 1 Master's Thesis, 2 Professional Assessment Case Studies.
The MBA capitalizes on ISM's Paris campus, providing students with the opportunity to network with one another face-to-face, and share their experience and knowledge. Each seminar in Paris constitutes 1.5 credits and is taught over a three day period; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 9 am to 6 pm. Given the intensive course format, ISM provides students with the necessary reading materials one month before each seminar. Additionally, all MBA students will attend the ISM New York program offered in July.
International Executive MBA (IEMBA) Program:
- 22 Seminars, Master's Thesis, 2 Professional Assessment Case Studies.
The IEMBA emphasizes the practical application of principles that govern international business with a curriculum tailored to the lives of working professionals. The program is based on an American-style curriculum-a series of intensive seminars-taught by professors with real-world experience who also teach in some of America's top business schools.
The Traditional Option:
The Traditional Option takes place in the classroom, making use of ISM's Paris campus as well as its international programs in New York, New Delhi, and Shanghai. Its strength, of course, is the opportunity for participants to meet one another face-to-face, and share their experience and knowledge.
The e-Learning Option:
The e-Learning Option takes advantage of ISM’s extensive e-Learning curriculum, which offers students the possibility of completing the majority of their IEMBA seminars on-line. Through this approach, students may study as their schedules permit, adjusting the pace of their coursework to the demands of office and home. E-Learning students are nevertheless required to take 25% of their seminars (i.e. 9 credits) in the traditional classroom. The remaining 24 credits are to be completed on e-learning (i.e. 8 on-line courses).
Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Program:
- 21 coursework credits, 2 Professional Assessment Case Studies, 1 Doctoral dissertation under the close supervision of their Director of Research and the Dean of the DBA program.
The ISM DBA is designed for more experienced candidates who, having already completed a Masters program, are looking to further develop their practical and theoretical knowledge of the principles that govern international business.

The Traditional Option, capitalizing on ISM's Paris campus, as well as its international programs, takes place in the classroom to provide candidates with the opportunity to network with one another face-to-face, and share their experience and knowledge. Given the intensive course format, ISM provides candidates with the necessary reading materials one month before each seminar.
The e-Learning Option:
The E-Learning Option takes advantage of ISM's extensive E-Learning curriculum which offers candidates the possibility of completing some or even the majority of their DBA coursework on-line. It is designed for working professionals who may not be able to manage the travel-time required to attend each traditional seminars. With this option, candidates study as their schedules permit, adjusting the pace of the coursework to the demands of their personal and professional lives.
PhD in International Business Management:
- 15 DBA coursework credits, 12 PhD coursework credits (4 research courses), A 15-hour academic course researched, prepared, and taught, 2 Professional Assessment Case Studies, 1 doctoral dissertation under the close supervision of their Director of Research and the Dean of the PhD program.
The ISM PhD in International Business Management prepares experienced and highly motivated business professionals to embark on careers of engaged instruction and original research. By following a flexible program of seminars offered in the world's foremost business capitals and dynamic online courses available worldwide, candidates apply core principles of the ISM PhD program to their own first hand experience, generating valuable academic and business-related knowledge.
The Traditional Option:
The Traditional Option, capitalizing on ISM's Paris campus, as well as its international programs, takes place in the classroom to provide candidates with the opportunity to network with one another face-to-face, and share their experience and knowledge. Given the intensive course format, ISM provides candidates with the necessary reading materials one month before each seminar. Each seminar in Paris constitutes 1.5 credits and is taught over a three day period; Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm.
The e-Learning Option:
The E-Learning Option takes advantage of ISM’s extensive E-Learning curriculum which offers candidates the possibility of completing some or even the majority of their PhD coursework on-line. It is designed for working professionals who may not be able to manage the travel-time required to attend each traditional seminar. With this option, candidates study as their schedules permit, adjusting the pace of the coursework to the demands of their personal and professional lives.
Candidates benefiting from the E-Learning option can take up to 75 percent of their coursework credits online with at least 25 percent of credits to be fulfilled in the traditional classroom setting. The in-classroom requirement allows candidates to benefit directly from their peers and professors, exchanging knowledge and ideas while forging professional and academic ties to ISM’s international community.
To complete the requisite classroom seminars, candidates may choose between the following options:
- Attending 2 seminars in Paris, each worth 1.5 credits.
- Attending a combination of ISM's Paris, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai seminars.
