Parlando Institut fuer Sprache und Kultur, Berlin:
Located in the historic centre of Berlin, in the East of Germany, our language school named Parlando Institut fuer Sprache und Kultur offers German courses of all kinds - from small group classes covering all levels (A1 to C2) to one-on-one lessons tailored to your individual needs and wishes. Fast progress is guaranteed, because drumming German into the young, the old, the shy, and the talkative is one of our greatest passions. Berlin is one of Germany's most exciting cities, and with Parlando at your side, you'll soon become an expert in Berlin's wide range of culture and nightlife. Our leisure activities offer you the keys to the city, with a first-hand view of Berlin's main attractions and not-so-typical sights. See the city's museums, go to the concert halls, the playhouses and the movie theatres. We are located in Berlin-Mitte, near St. Hedwig Krankenhaus (Hospital) only a short walk from underground stations Rosenthaler Platz, Weinmesiterstraße and Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz.
Do you want to learn German as quickly and as comprehensively as possible during your stay in Berlin? Your best choice is our intensive course. If you work or study during the week, and only have time at night , we offer evening courses.
We also offer individual lessons, aimed at people seeking lessons tailored to their needs and wishes. However, if you are looking for a custom-made course for you and your colleagues, designed to match your company's professional needs, we then recommend our German courses for professionals.
Finally, if you are looking for a fast and effective way to get prepared for the TestDaF, then our TestDaF preparatory course is the right thing for you.
Intensive German:
Parlando's intensive courses are available for all levels (A1 to C2 according to the CEFR) and are made up of twenty-five 45-minute sessions per week. Lessons are held Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. We offer special course dates for beginners (see right); advanced students may join ongoing courses at any time. The average course size ranges from five to ten students.
Progression:
Level A1 and A2 require 125 units, i. e. a 5 week intensive course each. B1 requires 150 units, and B2, C1 and C2 200 units each. Beginners without any pre-knowledge who want to study at a German university should reckon with 32 to 40 weeks of language preparation in an intensive course.
Our intensive German courses also give you a profound preparation for the certificates Start Deutsch 1, Start Deutsch 2, ZD, Goethe-Zertifikat B2, ZMP, ZOP und KDS of Goethe Institut.
At the end of each level, it is possible to take an exam, the results of which will be certified by a language diploma. This exam is free of charge for students who book an intensive course for at least 8 weeks. The price also includes a placement test, as well as three guided leisure time activities per week. At the end of a course you will receive a certificate detailing the contents of the course and the progress you have made.
Evening German Courses:
Parlando's evening courses are made up of four 45-minute lessons per week, held Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m, or 6:30 - 8:00 resp. from 7:45 - 9.15 p.m. depending on the level.
These evening courses are aimed at those who are already living in Germany and have the possibility to learn German over an extended period of time.
Private Instruction:
Are you a business professional who needs to learn how to negotiate in German with the partners in your office? Are you a musician who needs to understand German for rehearsals? Or maybe you simply want to talk about the sermons of Thirteenth Century Northern Italian bishops? No matter what your subject is, we have a teacher for you!
You decide the subject, how quickly and how long you wish to study, as well as how much you would like to learn.
German for Professionals:
This service is designed especially for companies and scientific institutions. We work together with you to devise a group course tailored to your professional background for you and up to ten colleagues.
We would, of course, welcome the opportunity to continue teaching you German in our intensive, weekend, and evening courses.
You set the timetable. We then adapt ourselves to your schedule and fix the lessons with you by the week. According to your preference, lessons can take place at our institute or at your place of work.
TestDaF Preparatory Course:
Designed especially for students getting ready for the TestDaF exam, our preparatory course is held two weeks before the exam. During twenty 60-minute teaching units, held Monday through Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., you will have the chance to polish your writing and speaking skills. The lessons are held by TestDaF correctors, who are especially experienced with the exam's format.
