Conveniently located just minutes from the Huntington Beach Pier and downtown Huntington Beach in Orange County CA, LePort School’s Huntington Pier campus offers high-quality preschool through junior high programs for kids ages 18 months to 12 years. - Structured Academic Curriculum
We teach essential knowledge content sequentially – including literature, history, mathematics and science – and offer systematic instruction in the key language arts skills of spelling, vocabulary, grammar & writing. We present knowledge as an exciting discovery of the world, so that learning is like a detective story in which each lesson involves grasping a new and interesting twist. We make the material itself engaging rather than relying heavily on extrinsic rewards like grades, or on “hands-on,” “fun” projects that distract, rather than add, to the child’s learning of essential, applied knowledge.

As a private school, LePort is not required to participate in the annual testing which is mandatory at public schools. Test scores capture but a fraction of what we do. None of our students are drilled for tests, nor do we ever teach to a test. For example, our 3rd graders learn advanced math and language skills in a self-paced Montessori environment, without the boring test prep that is all too common in many public school and charter school programs. We are quite proud that just by virtue of our strong academic program, our 3rd graders in Mission Viejo scored in the top 2% of all tested students nationwide—and that our Elementary and Junior High/Middle School in Mission Viejo scored in the top 10% overall.

In contrast to most other schools, which operate on a “homeroom” model, where one teacher teaches all subjects for one year, we hire subject matter experts in each field. For example, our history teachers actually know and love history – and stay with your child over several years to ensure that your child experiences history as an exciting, integrated story, where this year’s learning builds upon and reinforces the prior years’ work. In an award-winning facility set on two acres in San Francisco, CA, Brandeis Hillel Day School is a non-affiliated, community school where children from diverse Jewish backgrounds create and participate in an environment of learning and support. Begun in 1963 as the Brandeis School, the school merged with the Hillel Day School in 1973. A Marin campus located in San Rafael was opened in 1978. The curriculum here is varied, integrated and challenging, with students developing a strong foundation in the basic academic disciplines of English, Hebrew, mathematics, science, social studies and Judaic studies. The arts, athletics, music and outdoor education are also taught.

Seven Arrows Elementary School is a co-educational, kindergarten through to sixth grade school in Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles, CA. Seven Arrows Elementary School is an outgrowth of Little Dolphins by the Sea Preschool, established 13 years ago in nearby Temescal Canyon.
