Why Choose LePort Schools?

- Structured Academic Curriculum
We teach essential knowledge content sequentially – including literature, history, mathematics and science – and offer systematic instruction in the key language arts skills of spelling, vocabulary, grammar & writing. We present knowledge as an exciting discovery of the world, so that learning is like a detective story in which each lesson involves grasping a new and interesting twist. We make the material itself engaging rather than relying heavily on extrinsic rewards like grades, or on “hands-on,” “fun” projects that distract, rather than add, to the child’s learning of essential, applied knowledge.

- Proven Results
As a private school, LePort is not required to participate in the annual testing which is mandatory at public schools. Test scores capture but a fraction of what we do. None of our students are drilled for tests, nor do we ever teach to a test. For example, our 3rd graders learn advanced math and language skills in a self-paced Montessori environment, without the boring test prep that is all too common in many public school and charter school programs. We are quite proud that just by virtue of our strong academic program, our 3rd graders in Mission Viejo scored in the top 2% of all tested students nationwide—and that our Elementary and Junior High/Middle School in Mission Viejo scored in the top 10% overall.

- Professional, Expert Teachers
In contrast to most other schools, which operate on a “homeroom” model, where one teacher teaches all subjects for one year, we hire subject matter experts in each field. For example, our history teachers actually know and love history – and stay with your child over several years to ensure that your child experiences history as an exciting, integrated story, where this year’s learning builds upon and reinforces the prior years’ work. We selectively hire interesting, passionate people who enjoy learning and life, and can pass that positive attitude on to your child.

Unique Teaching Methods:

At LePort, we understand that deep knowledge and strong thinking skills are a foundation upon which to educate the whole child. Both inside and outside the classroom, we guide our students as they build strength of character and learn personal, social and life skills. Our graduates are children who have developed a strong sense of personal identity: they have learned to act in pursuit of their chosen goals, and have developed goals they're motivated to pursue.

Parent Testimonials:

"I have a two and a five year old who both attend LePort Montessori in Huntington Beach. I can't imagine placing my kids in any other school. Both of our kids amaze us, along with our friends and family, at the things they are able to do at such a young age. The best part is that they love school and want to attend even on the weekends. The teachers and staff are extremely caring and educated. You won't find a better school!"

"I am thrilled to have my two children attending LePort Schools. My children (6th grade and 8th grade) have truly enjoyed the distinctive and unique teaching styles exhibited by your teachers. I can’t tell you how shocked I have been to find this philosophy completely incorrect in the case of LePort. After the past few years that my kids have attended the middle school, I can say that what appeared to be ‘too good to be true’ has actually turned out to be better!"
- Kathy C

"Caring teachers and staff eased our shy child into the classroom. "Our child attended LePort Montessori-Huntington Beach for over a year until we moved from the area and the experience was all POSITIVE. The caring teachers and staff eased our shy child into the classroom and did a great job introducing her to a full Montessori environment. She is now a confident and well-learned 4 year old who is excited about school and has easily transitioned into her new school. Keep up the good work."
