Discovery Montessori Preschool in Sacramento, CA, is a private preschool offering programs to children ages two 1/2 through to five years. Our small size and home-like facility (maximum 24 students at one time) encourages community. Our teachers offer warm and loving attention, providing the intimate feel of extended family. We offer a teacher-child ratio that exceeds state standards. Our program and philosophy build continuity between school activities and home life.
Child Age Range:
Children ages two 1/2 through to five years may enroll. Each child's readiness best determines his or her eligibility for Discovery Montessori Preschool. Children needing toilet training and children with special needs are considered.

Parent Involvement Program (PIP):
Our Parent Involvement Program (“PIP”) helps keep tuition cost down while building a community of students, teachers and parents. Our school is a non-profit community school and requires that all parents participate by either serving on the parent board through once a month parent meetings, assisting in the classroom, helping with maintenance and cleaning, yard work, baking, sewing and / or other creative contributions so that we can maintain and improve our school community. Families are required to give thirty hours per year to our school community.
Our Staff:
We employ people who are warm, nurturing, understanding, and educated in child development. They each apply their knowledge in the classroom and respect the child as an individual. We seek employees who value working as a team with the children, parents, colleagues, and volunteers. The school is operated by an Early Childhood credentialed Teacher / Administrator.
The support staff has varied levels of ECE units and credentials. The administrator and support staff attend workshops and conferences to update their education and knowledge. Twice a year there are in-service days for teachers to prepare materials and classrooms.

Established in 1946 and set in the heart of San Francisco in the Laurel Heights area, Laurel Hill is the oldest parent-participation, cooperative nursery school in San Francisco. Our philosophy is child-centered and is focused on building a child's self esteem through socialization and play. While there is no strict academic program at Laurel Hill, our children thrive in an environment that lets them learn organically. Laurel Hill is the largest co-op nursery school in the Bay Area, with approximately 80 families enrolled. We currently have a staff of 8 teachers, and with parent participation our adult-to-child ratio is roughly 1 to 5. Families who become members of the co-op need to fulfill participation responsibilities, and by doing so allow us to offer an unrivaled experience at extremely affordable rates. Kids Into Speaking Spanish (KISS) is a total Spanish immersion program for preschool and kindergarten age children (from 2 to 6 years), with two locations in the East Bay region of San Francisco Bay Area: Walnut Creek (East of Oakland in Contra Costa County) and Montclair, Oakland, CA. The schools are a safe and exciting place for children to grow and learn. Our success over the last seven years is a testament to our innovative program. We provide a wonderful program designed to prepare your child for academic success. About 95% of the activities are conducted in Spanish. The core of our curriculum consists of activities and participation in cultural experiences such as singing, dancing, art projects, cooking, and games - all done entirely in Spanish.
