Photo of Montessori Preschool / Child Care in Sacramento, CAChildren ages two 1/2 through to five years may enroll. Each child's readiness best determines his or her eligibility for Discovery Montessori Preschool. Children needing toilet training and children with special needs are considered.

Preschool Programs (For Ages 2 1/2 - 5 Years):
Education is provided through a wide variety of playtime and educational activities. Our curriculum is specially designed to stimulate and entertain children. Some of our activities include:

Parent Involvement Program (PIP):
Our Parent Involvement Program (“PIP”) helps keep tuition cost down while building a community of students, teachers and parents. Our school is a non-profit community school and requires that all parents participate by either serving on the parent board through once a month parent meetings, assisting in the classroom, helping with maintenance and cleaning, yard work, baking, sewing and / or other creative contributions so that we can maintain and improve our school community. Families are required to give thirty hours per year to our school community.

Our Staff:

We employ people who are warm, nurturing, understanding, and educated in child development. They each apply their knowledge in the classroom and respect the child as an individual. We seek employees who value working as a team with the children, parents, colleagues, and volunteers. The school is operated by an Early Childhood credentialed Teacher / Administrator.

The support staff has varied levels of ECE units and credentials. The administrator and support staff attend workshops and conferences to update their education and knowledge. Twice a year there are in-service days for teachers to prepare materials and classrooms.
