inlingua Como:
inlingua Como is a language school located in Como, in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy (just 45 minutes north of Milan). We offer a wide range of beginner to advanced level Italian courses, with individual, group, and intensive study options available. Our instructors are qualified & experienced professionals with certified teaching credentials and extensive training in the inlingua method. We also offer courses in English, Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, Greek, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Croatian, Spanish, Swedish and German.
Our school is part of inlingua International Schools of Languages, with more than 300 language schools around the world. The inlingua method of learning languages is the result of 40 years of experience. Over 500,000 students learn languages with us every year.
Since inlingua was founded in 1968, it is constantly developing new concepts to meet the ever-changing needs of clients in all markets and to ensure that we are abreast of modern teaching and learning techniques and technologies. The inlingua Pedagogical Team in Bern, Switzerland, produces a wide range of teaching materials, written to be used with the inlingua method.
The key features of the inlingua method and materials are an emphasis on oral communication; a high level of student participation; and systematic, comprehensive language practice. All this adds up to effective language courses and a correspondingly high degree of fluency development in our students in a very short time.
The inlingua organization produces its own language resources, specially designed to complement the inlingua method. It is this combination of special inlingua books and special teaching techniques which entitles us to speak of “the inlingua method” as an effective and fast way to learn to speak languages.
The primary aim of the inlingua method is to enable the learner to communicate as competently as possible in the foreign language. Of course, the inlingua method also helps the learner to read and write. The main emphasis, however, is on the spoken word. It is only by speaking the language that the learner will acquire oral competence.
- The teacher conducts the lesson in Italian only.
- The teacher gives the learner the opportunity to speak as much as possible during the lesson.
- The teacher concentrates more on teaching structures (i.e. how words are put together) than on teaching individual words.
- The teacher keeps theoretical explanations to a minimum. In order to drive a car it is not necessary to know how the engine works.
- The teacher encourages the learner to play a creative role in the learning process.
- The teacher combines the structural and functional approaches to Italian language teaching.
Beginner to Advanced Level Italian Language Courses:
