Japan America Society of Chicago:
Situated in the heart of Downtown Chicago IL, The Japan America Society of Chicago is a not-for-profit language learning institution that provides beginner to advanced level Japanese language courses to students from around the world.
Established in 1930, the Japan America Society of Chicago is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan, nonpolitical association that "fosters understanding between our two cultures, to cultivate personal friendship between our two people."
The Society promotes dialogue, social interaction, cooperation and friendship among its members by serving as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on economic, political, business and cultural affairs that inform and shape U.S.- Japan bilateral relations in world affairs.
Our Classes:
All courses are taught by an experienced native instructor of the Japanese language. Instruction is provided at each level, one evening weekly, 5:30-7:30 pm in the conference room of the Japan America Society of Chicago.
Each level of Japanese is tailored to the level of expertise and type of study required by students. Weekly lessons provide students with an opportunity to begin the study of Japanese or to sharpen previously acquired skills. All courses are taught by an experienced native instructor of the Japanese language. Course levels include:
- Beginning Japanese Level I
- Beginning Japanese Level II
- Beginning Japanese Level III
- Beginning Japanese Level IV
- Intermediate Japanese Level I
- Conversational Japanese
- Advanced Japanese
- English Classes for Japanese
How do I know which level I should take?
The Society does not offer exams to test students language ability. We recommend that you register for the class that best suits your needs with the flexibility to move levels the following week if needed.
