Educational Programs for High School Students (Grades 9-12) 

Academics:

Our college preparatory curriculum with math, English, science, social studies, fine arts, business & technology, foreign languages, theology and physical education educates the whole student-intellectually, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

Drama:
Drama I is an introductory course into all aspects of theatre.  It is an advanced study aimed at the craft of acting and the responsibilities of producing and directing. SPX Players is an audition only class focused on ensemble acting.

The main emphasis of SPX Players is to perform outside of SPX for schools, groups, organizations and clubs. Production/Stagecraft/Technical Theatre – This is a “working”, “hands-on” classroom.

The primary focus is promoting and supporting the demands of staging SPX special effects, set design, set construction, property management, textile art, electrical work, lighting and sound design, costuming, painting, make-up, and woodworking.

Forensics:

Forensics is a competitive speech/acting activity. Students will either present an original speech and/or a humorous/dramatic piece from memory. Tournaments are held at numerous schools across the city and state.

We offer college prep courses for ACT and SAT.

Honors Courses:

Honors courses cover more material at a faster pace and possibly require more homework than regular courses. We offer a range of 60 honors courses.

AP (Advanced Placement):

AP courses are available in all aears of study - English, math, science, social studies, languages, fine arts etc. Courses designated as Advanced Placement (AP) courses conform to the guidelines set forth by the College Board.
The AP Exam will be given at the end of the school year.

ACCP (Advanced College Credit Program):

Courses designated as (ACCP) Courses conform to the guidelines set forth by the University in which the class is sponsored. At St Pius X ACCP courses are offered either through Rockhurst University or Park University depending on the course. ACCP Courses will be designated on the students transcript as course completed through Rockhurst University or Park University respectively.

Athletics:
SPX offers the following sports: Boys: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Hockey, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Track, and Wrestling; Girls: Basketball, Cross Country, Softball, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Track, and Volleyball.

The Children's House Lake Meadows, Chicago

The Children's House Lake Meadows provides distinct and proven Early Education Experience programs for children ages 6 weeks through to 12 years of age. The Children's House is privately owned, and currently operates 4 facilities in Cook County, Illinois, including Chicago City, Park Forest and Markham. ASA Christian Academy
Courses / Programs
ASA Christian Academy is a private Christian school and learning center in Hazelwood, Missouri. We offer early childhood education for children ranging from baby, infant, toddler, children, and kids for preschool, kindergarten, and school age child education (1st grade - 6th grade).

In 1999, ASA Christian Academy (formerly Alphabet Soup Academy) opened its preschool in Black Jack with just four students. Since then, we have grown to house 105 students. At the request of our parents, we have expanded to a Hazelwood location that can house over 200 students from the age of two years through the sixth grade. Our classrooms are air conditioned, video monitored, and safe for all ages.

We educate our children wholly, focusing on loving, trusting, and respecting each child. We meet the needs of our children's physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth. We promote our children's curiosity, sense of wonder and desire to learn.

Acacia Academy is an accredited, private special education / therapeutic school for grades 1-12 and offers a Transition Program for ages 18-22 servicing the Chicago, IL area.
