Early Childhood:
The curriculum makes positive self-esteem a priority as it is the foundation for all learning. Children will learn:
* To understand situations and learn to solve problems.
* To learn self-control.
* To express their thoughts through language and imagination.
* To understand his/her emotions.
* To be able to interact with others.
* To provide for the Spiritual development of the child through awareness of God's love.
Elementary and Middle School:
Language Arts:
Integrated Language Arts is the development of literacy through an ongoing and connected process where listening, speaking, reading, and writing occur in natural situations within a community of learners. The ability to communicate in a global world, to understand and to be understood, is intrinsic to developing collaboration and interdependence in the 21st century. Through an integrated Language Arts curriculum, students develop skills in language literacy to move them beyond an isolated world of learning into an all-enveloping wide world of interrelated knowledge.
Math:
It is our hope to produce confident problem-solvers who value the importance, power and application of mathematics in their lives. The mathematics curriculum is built around collaboration, variety, and opportunity in order that students will develop a lifelong appreciation of math and become productive members of society bringing Christian values to their world.
Science:
Three values are rooted in the Catholic tradition-dignity of the human person, reverence for all creation, and the good of the whole based upon the Gospel message. With this in mind, the goal of the science curriculum for our students is that at all grade levels students
* Think critically, logically, analytically, and ethically.
* Express ideas orally and in writing using correct terminology.
* Apply techniques to real world situations, identifying and solving problems within the situation.
* Recognize learning is woven into their everyday lives and that an understanding of this is important to functioning in today's world.
Technology:
Students are encouraged and taught right from Kindergarten to extend themselves. Using Technology as a tool to enable students to meet challenging state academic standards is now a requirement if they are to succeed. The skills our students learn will no doubt be used for the rest of their lives.
Social Studies:
The Social Studies curriculum is an integrated study of the social sciences and humanities. Consistent with the teachings and principles of the Catholic Church, students will develop the skills and intellectual curiosity needed to understand the events that have shaped our nation.
Students are encouraged to become life-long reflective thinkers. The aim of the curriculum is to enable students to understand the past, to apply it to the present, and create a better future.
