About the Language Workshop for Children:
François Thibaut, Founder and Director of the Language Workshop for Children, pioneered his program's distinctive Thibaut Technique in 1973. His method combines carefully structured curriculum and a child's innate love of play. Founded in 1926 in Manhatten, New York by a group of American and Chinese educators, China Institute in America is the oldest educational and cultural organization in the United States focused on advancing a deeper understanding of China through programs in education, culture, business and art in the belief that cross-cultural understanding strengthens our global community. China Institute offers Mandarin language immersion programs designed for preschool, kindergarten, elementary and high school students. For students with little or no prior background in Mandarin, the Institute also offers a six-week long Mandarin Chinese Summer Immersion Academy in New York City.
