Carioca is the Portuguese school for you!! Located in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Carioca Languages is a Portuguese language school specialized in teaching Brazilian Portuguese to foreigners. We teach students of all ages, levels and nationalities. Our classes are dynamic, efficient and didactic. Our teachers are experienced and highly skilled university graduates, with degrees in Portuguese Language. Our goal is to ensure that our students can feel confident in using both formal and informal Portuguese after just one course of lessons.

We take great care to offer high quality learning materials that meet the needs of the student, with handouts, audios and videos. Our teaching materials and workbooks were developed by Professor Viviane Moraes (MA, PhD) after years of experience in teaching to students of all levels. Her objetive was to create curriculums based in essential grammar and conversation, with a focus on preparing students for real life situations in day-to-day activities. This way, students can practice the language the most effective and natural way– through their daily life.
