- Standard-Plus English Course:
The Standard-Plus course is recommended for students who wish to focus on specific areas. In the mornings, participants take part in the Standard course. One-to-one lessons are scheduled for the afternoon. The lessons are designed around the specific needs and wants of the student. A syllabus is decided on in consultation with the student at the beginning of the course through a needs analysis.
- Intensive English Course:
The Intensive Course is recommended for students who want to practise their English while learning more about the South African context in which they are studying. In the mornings, participants take part in the Standard course.
The afternoon (Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri) lessons are less intensive than the morning lessons. Students will usually practise speaking, reading, listening and writing, and the lessons will be based around South African culture, history and current affairs. The lessons may include outings to local cultural sights, lessons using South African videos or songs, or debates on controversial issues in South Africa.
- Focus Study Course:
The Focus Study Course is recommended for students who want to concentrate on specific areas.
In the mornings participants take part in the Standard course. These afternoon lessons are very focused and aim to help students to improve specific skills. For 4 lessons per week, the focus is on speaking & listening; for 3 lessons, it is on pronunciation and for a further 3 lessons, it is on vocabulary. Within each of these areas, the teacher arranges the lessons around the difficulties and interests of the students.
