The Spanish Institute in San Diego is a language center that offers Spanish language instruction to adults and children. We have two locations: One is in Mission Valley in San Diego County, 5 miles north of downtown San Diego, off Interstate 8, and the other is in Carlsbad in San Diego's North County region, approximately 35 miles north of downtown San Diego. Our classes are scheduled to fit your busy work schedule or your children's school schedule. We offer a variety of classes to accommodate your current level of proficiency in the Spanish language. We also offer private, semi-private, small-group and corporate classes. Class size is limited to 4 or 6 students so that each learner receives maximum individual attention and practice in conversation.

Levels:
* Beginner I:
The student starts to speak Spanish from the first day. Upon completing this level, the student will have a repertoire of basic language to deal with everyday situations with predictable content. The student will be able to produce brief everyday expressions in order to satisfy simple conversational needs. The Beginner I level is divided into one course of 12 hours (8 week course).

* Beginner II:
This level enriches the students’ oral proficiency through an emphasis on colloquial vocabulary, grammar study, discussions and readings. In beginner II, the student can express him / herself with sufficient vocabulary but with some hesitation on topics such as family, hobbies and interests, work, travel, and current events. Upon fully completing courses of this level, the student will be able to describe typical situations, making phone calls, interact spontaneously and more. The beginner II level is divided into two courses, beginner II-A and beginner II-B, consisting of 12 hours each, with a total of 24 hours for 16 weeks.

* Intermediate & Advanced:
The student will be able to express him / herself clearly without having to restrict what he / she wants to say. the student will develop a reliable mastery of a very wide range of language to formulate thoughts precisely, emphasize specific points, develop ideas systematically and eliminate ambiguity. At this intermediate advanced level, the student is offered a variety of special courses; ‘Grammar, Conversation & Current Events’, ‘Spanish through Translation’ and more. The intermediate advance level is also divided into two courses, intermediate and advanced levels, consisting of 12 hours each and a total of 24 hours for 16 weeks.
