Portland State University - Intensive English Language Program
Courses / Programs
Portland State University is Oregon's largest university, offering more than 120 areas of study. Over 24,000 students attend PSU, including over 1000 international students from 90+ countries.Founded in 1964, the Intensive English Language Program (IELP) at Portland State University is one of the oldest university-based ESL programs in the western USA.
Each term between 150 - 225 students, from over 20 countries, attend the IELP. The IELP helps students improve English and prepare for university level coursework, as well as for personal, business, travel, or general purposes.
PSU is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Portland, a scenic, green, clean, and safe city, with a population of 1.8 million people.
Students can easily walk or take public transportation everywhere. No TOEFL score is needed for admission to the IELP or for admission to PSU.

Sophie Scholl Schule

Based in Beaverton and SW Portland. Classes held at the German International School on Saturdays & after school in Portland (currently in Hillsdale --check for 2018/19 locations).Saturdays: German immersion for ages 3 years up to adults All abilities welcome: beginners to advanced, grouped by age and level. Teachers are fun, thoughtful, and know how to reach their students. Classes are "auf Deutsch", and are based on modern teaching methods and curriculum.
After school: grade school age (days & exact ages vary by location).
HIllsdale classes Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:15-5:30, K-5th grade, mixed-age groups, typically pre-reader vs. reading-ready. Total hours per week & philosophy same as above.
Middle and high-schoolers may take standardized tests from the German government, the Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD for short).
Camp Abenteuer in the Columbia Gorge runs the 3rd week of July to kids ages 8-16, no matter their language level. This year's theme is Camp Abenteuer taucht unter / Dive into Camp Abenteuer. July 15-20, 2018.

Lewis & Clark is a private nationally regarded liberal arts institution of higher education. Our Academic English Studies (AES) program offers full-time (18-20 hours per week) English instruction for low-intermediate through advanced English language students.
