Photo of Private Day & Boarding School in Springfield MA areaMacDuffie students hail from all over the country and the world, as well as from Springfield and surrounding towns in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

International Students:
Upon arrival on campus, you are directed to your new campus home. It will not look like a dorm because it isn’t. It is a home. And here you will live with your House Parent(s) and other students like you – some may be American, but most are other international students. Within days, this group of people will feel like a family and then, with the addition of other boarding and day students, an even larger family – a community.

Throughout the student orientation days you will meet new and returning boarding students, local day students, and adults who will help to guide you through the opening days of school. It won’t be long before you feel a connection to MacDuffie and a sense of belonging in your new American home. This connection may last the rest of your life.

Boarding Program:
The Ames Hill Boarding Program primarily comprises non-immigrant international students. Students entering Grade 9 – 12 may apply to live on campus.

Upon acceptance and enrollment, these students are issued an I-20 form allowing them to apply for an F-1 student visa. Students approved for this visa are able to enter the United States for study and return to their home countries during school vacation times.

Within the last few years, Ames Hill students have come from: Austria, Brazil, China, Ethiopia, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Mexico, Norway, Nigeria, Philippines, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
