Located in Marlborough, Middlesex County, MA, 30 miles west of Boston, 70 miles from Hartford, and 3½ hours from New York City, Hillside School is an independent boarding and day school for boys grades 5-9. For over 100 years Hillside has provided educational and residential services to boys who need to develop their academic and social skills. Hillside accommodates both traditional learners and boys with learning differences and/or attention problems. Offering a structured, supportive, and challenging curriculum, Hillside allows students to develop academically, physically, spiritually, morally and socially while building their confidence and maturity.
The School's mission is to help young adolescent boys develop in their formative years. Our students gain academic and social skills while building confidence and maturity.
Program highlights include a student teacher ratio of 6:1, academic and social skills tutorials, a working farm and farm curriculum, and wonderful cultural opportunities in Boston.
We seek not only boys of average to above-average intelligence who are looking for a supportive, structured school, but also students who have been underachieving in other school settings.
Hillside's students matriculate at leading independent secondary boarding or day schools as well as local parochial and public high schools.

We are proud to help boys with LD issues navigate the challenging waters of a middle school education. We are also well known for being an excellent school for traditional learners who want a small, more personal academic environment.
Our small class size, well trained faculty, challenging curriculum-one with breadth and depth-and tutorial support program are all key components of our strategy to assist our boys in finding their paths to success.
Our most valuable resource is our faculty, staff and volunteer groups. We have experienced, junior boarding school faculty who are passionate about their craft and our boys.

Hillside is blessed with six housing units to which the boys are assigned based on age and grade. The houses are staffed by Hillside faculty members. The house parents are supervised by the Dean of Residential Life.
House parents get their young charges up in the morning, making sure they are dressed properly and fulfill their responsibilities in the house. As in any good family environment, manners and hygiene receive particular attention.
Boys are expected to keep their personal space and the common areas clean and tidy, learning to do chores because they need to be done, not because they have to do them. In the evening, house parents sometimes provide freshly baked cookies - a much anticipated treat.
Student proctors play a vital role in the houses, helping new boys through bouts of homesickness, and generally assisting the house parents in interacting with the students.

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18.We welcome students from Massachusetts, across the U.S., and students from around the world (TWAI is authorized to issue 1-20's for international students).
In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.
TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Located in Plymouth County MA, Chamberlain International School is a co-educational therapeutic boarding and day school, serving students ages 11-22 from Massachusetts, across the United States, and throughout the world. We offer college preparatory and general education courses to both middle and high school students. As well as academics, Chamberlain offers on-campus diagnostic programming, individual therapy, psychiatric services, therapeutic groups, nursing care, and family therapy.
Chamberlain is co-educational with 98 boarding and 20 day students, typically 60/40 males to females. Students range in age from 11-22 and are in Grades 6-12. Some students stay beyond Grade 12 to participate in a transition program which may involve an apprentice program, college studies or both.

Located in Great Barrington, in the Berkshires area of west Massechusetts, The John Dewey Academy is a year-round college preparatory therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens ages 15-21.
