European Language Examination Centre:
Located in the southern Czech city of České Budějovice (2 hours from Prague), European Language Examination Centre provides full-time Cambridge CELTA courses throughout the year. Our internationally-accredited CELTA course features real-life teaching practice, and theory taught by experienced and qualified instructors. The Cambridge CELTA is a common requirement for those entering the field of English language teaching. Since it is recognised internationally, it is a particularly popular credential among people who wish to travel and teach English around the world.
CELTA English Teacher Training Certificate:
- Duration: 120 hours / 4 weeks
The full-time Cambridge CELTA course runs for four weeks. The CELTA course is validated and certificates are issued by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), a part of the University of Cambridge.
The Cambridge CELTA is awarded upon passing the course, which includes six hours of assessed teaching practice to real EFL classes in at least two different levels of ability.
Topics include:
- Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context
- Language analysis and awareness
- Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing
- Planning and resources for different contexts
- Developing teaching skills and professionalism
Assessment:
You will be assessed throughout the course. There is no final examination. An external assessor, appointed by Cambridge English Language Assessment, moderates each course. There are two types of assessment – Teaching Practice and Written Assignments. To get the Cambridge CELTA certificate, you must pass both assessments.
