- We offer an age-appropriate curriculum with an emphasis on child-centered, hands-on play-based learning.

- Everything that we do promotes learning in a fun way, with a consistent schedule, seasonal and interest-based activities.

- You can be assured your child will enjoy a loving, caring, and safe environment.

Our Philosophy:

At Milestones UWS Preschool, we believe that a child's first introduction to a separation program sets the tone for a love of school and learning. We pride ourselves in being in-tune with your child's needs, abilities, interests, and emotions.

We aim to provide a warm and safe environment where your family feels welcome, and where your child wants to be.

Mixed Age Classes:

We enjoy the mixed-age class because it resembles a family unit. Kindness and respect are top priorities. Our older children are encouraged to model appropriate behavior for the younger students. We stress cooperation, consideration, and helpfulness.

We do a lot of social teaching like sharing and "using our words" to resolve conflict. Students are to be kind and loving to each other, their teachers and the school itself.

Our Facilities:
Situated in a family-owned townhouse on 74th Street, across from Riverside Park, Milestones Preschool enjoys a convenient Upper West Side location.

The school is run out of the director’s child-safe and spacious apartment. We have a wonderful environment both inside the school as well as in the building.

Parent Testimonials:

"I am just so thrilled with this school and grateful that I found a healthy environment for my child, I can't praise them enough."

"In a hectic environment NYC parents are faced with, Melissa is probably the most reliable, helpful and calm caregiver I've ever met. My children love spending time with her because she is both happy and confident around them."

"Deb was wonderful teaching my 4 year old son the beginnings of writing and math. She knew exactly how to teach him at his level and stretch him to think about problem solving from a 4 year old's perspective. Deb is a patient, caring and attentive teacher and I always knew my son was in good hands as I dropped him off daily for preschool...exactly the kind of comfort a mother needs when leaving a "little one" to be cared for by others"

Study Skills for High School Students
Courses / Programs
Developing good study skills in high school will prepare you for academic success in college. Learning how to effectively manage your time, how to prioritize your work and how to retain important information are skills that will be of huge benefit to you throughout your life.

While you still have the support of your teachers in high school, you are expected to think for yourself and to take control of your learning. Whether you're a freshman or a senior, you can improve your study habits by making a few changes to your routine. Your academic success is entirely up to you!

Try to study in quiet environments that are free from distractions - you can't concentrate effectively if you are constantly being interrupted. Have a dedicated study area at home, and use your school library also. If you have disruptive classmates, try to sit as far away from them as possible so you can focus on your teacher.

Create an efficient and realistic study schedule for yourself and stick to it. Study for blocks of 20-50 minutes and make sure you take plenty of breaks. Try to be physically active during your breaks but make sure you return to your study!
Study Skills for High School Students:
- Time Management: Use planners, study plans & to-do lists to keep you on track.
- Self-discipline: Attend all classes and meet every deadline for assignments. Set aside time each day for study.
- Focus in class and listen attentively. If you don't understand something, ask questions!
- Effective note-taking: Make sure you record important points.
- Be organized: Keep all of your study materials in one place.
- Have a dedicated study area free of distractions.
