Vancouver Community College is British Columbia's

(ABT) program is a provincial curriculum project
to develop web-based training in Office Management
as a collaborative effort between the community
colleges and the Centre for Curriculum Technology
and Transfer to develop a Collaborative Online Program
for E-Learners (COPE). The first courses being offered
are the core courses of the ABT. Students will acquire
the skills and knowledge to use effective oral and
written communication techniques; demonstrate time
management techniques by determining work priorities;
create, revise, transcribe and process business
correspondence and documents using a variety of
electronic office equipment with an emphasis on
microcomputers. Students will use word processing,
spreadsheet and graphics software to perform a variety
of secretarial assignments to the professional standards
expected in an office.
