Alexandra College: Alexandra College in Dublin was founded in 1866 and has a long and distinguished history in the field of education for women. The College is under Church of Ireland management and the Archbishop of Dublin acts as Chairman of the Council, which is the governing body. The staff and student body comprises many nationalities and religious traditions which combine to give the College its unique ethos. Its aims are to promote and develop the aims of the College, to promote student welfare and to foster social and other activities amongst the members of the Association.
The A.C.A. is directly involved in the academic and extracurricular life of the College. For example, it has funded elements of the Alexandra Learning and Teaching Initiative (ALTI) and members are involved with such events as parent social evenings and the 6th Year graduation party.
