Mandarin Chinese Language Classes:
Year-round & in summer. For beginner to advanced students.

• Private Mandarin Chinese Lessons:

Learn at your own pace and according to your own schedule. You may set up any day or time for your classes, including weekends and evening hours. 

Students meet with their private teacher from once a week to every day. The lessons may be held at your Manhattan office, home or at our language institute.

• Total Beginner Mandarin Chinese Group Classes:
Meet once a week for 1.5 hours. Enrol for 6, 8, or 12 weeks. Day, evening and weekend classes available.

Total Beginner classes are designed for people with no previous exposure to the language. Acquire basic grammar and vocabulary to develop basic conversational and practical skills.

In the first 6 weeks, you will be introduced to the tones, pin-yin (the romanized version of Chinese), and basic conversation. If you choose to study for 8-12 weeks, you can build on your vocabulary, speaking, and reading skills including an introduction to Chinese characters.

• Above Beginner Mandarin Chinese Classes:
If you are not a total beginner, you are welcome to join one of our on-going Mandarin Chinese classes at any time.

• Mandarin Introductory Workshop:

• Skype / Online Mandarin Chinese Lessons:
All you need to learn Chinese from the comfort of your own home or office is an internet connection, webcam and audio headset. Just log in to Skype and meet your teacher virtually at a time convenient for you.

Located in Manhattan, Hills Learning offers Chinese language lessons in the NY area for all skill levels and ages. Individual and group courses are available.

Our group classes are for adults, and take place at the Chanin Building which is part of Grand Central station (122 East 42nd Street, at the corner of Lexington Avenue).

We provide standard and intensive Chinese, business Chinese, online Chinese classes, Chinese for vacation as well as corporate training. Our private lessons are generally for adults, but we also have programs that cater to children. 

For our individual lessons, we specialize in finding the right teacher and creating the correct curriculum. We cover all of NYC, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. Since 1999, Byron Wu's Chinese Studio has provided Mandarin Chinese language classes in New York City. The studio is centrally located in Manhattan, just five minutes' walk from Union Square and 14th Street – Union Square Subway Station (Shared by the IRT Lexington Avenue Line, the BMT Broadway Line, and the BMT Canarsie Line). The Mandarin Chinese lessons offered will give you the training you need to communicate with skill and confidence.

At Byron Wu's Chinese Studio, students start building essential skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing from the very first lesson. Each of these skills reinforces the others. Classes for beginner students combine instruction in grammar and usage with a lot of oral practice.
