Jean-Paul Setlak, the director and program designer is a talented linguist who speaks and teaches French and other languages including Spanish, English, Mandarin, Italian, Hindi and Punjabi. The school creates a safe and enjoyable environment where students can progress rapidly. Emphasis is placed on empowering the students and bringing them immediately to express themselves in their new language. We offer small groups and individual classes as part of intensive and easy-pace programs.

Whether we teach individuals or corporate students, our course scheduling is always flexible enough to accommodate busy individuals. Communicating passion for languages and learning in general has remained our primary goals. Focus is conveniently located in the NW Chicago Suburbs, and can accommodate both businesses and individuals, in on-site or off-site locations; in group or one-on-one classes; in easy-paced, intensive, or immersion-style programs. Professor Jie Wang teaches in the Department of Managerial Studies and the MBA Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. A native of Beijing, Dr. Wang has also taught Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Chinese as well as independent study courses in Chinese language and culture at the University of North Dakota and the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to teaching, he manages Chinese Language Service, whose Chinese-learning and translation clients range from multinational corporations to individuals. Professor Hong Chen, also from Beijing, teaches Chinese language, film, and literature at Loyola University Chicago and previously taught Chinese at the University of North Dakota. Besides teaching regular university courses, Dr. Wang and Prof. Chen offer corporate training as well as group and private lessons in Mandarin. We also provide professional Chinese/English translation service.

Situated in Normal IL, part of the Normal-Bloomington community in central Illinois, Illinois State University's English Language Institute provides a comprehensive English language training to students from around the world. Our Intensive English Program (IEP) focuses on practical learning and the special needs of adult language learners.

All classes are taught in small groups of two to fifteen students. The IEP course includes at least 20 hours of class instruction a week, integrated classes in Reading/Writing and Speaking/Listening, and a focus on developing academic skills.
