Albright College, Pennsylvania:
Welcome to Albright College, located in Reading, Pennsylvania. Our Economics and Business Department offers business administration and management degree programs with two concentrations: economics (bachelor of arts) and business administration (bachelor of science). Economics, a liberal arts discipline, is utilized in both concentrations as a foundation to better understand the world we live in as well as to prepare the student for a career in business, government, law or non-profit organizations.
Our mission is to inspire and educate the scholar and leader in each student, building on a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences and a commitment to the best of human values, fostering a commitment to a lifetime of service and learning.
Our Vision, Values, Outcomes:
Our Vision: We aspire to be widely known and respected for preparing our graduates to be exceptionally successful in navigating an increasingly complex and uncertain world characterized by continuous and dramatic change. We wish, therefore, to attract students who have the capacity and the desire to be engaged members of a supportive and caring learning community that is rooted in the liberal arts and sciences, includes a selection of well-integrated, professional programs, and is characterized by a strong interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to learning. We seek to excel in offering an integrative learning experience that synthesizes theory with practice, promotes critical thinking and effective self expression, and fosters in our students a commitment to a lifetime of service and learning.
We challenge our students to cross boundaries and make connections among academic disciplines, campus experiences, and community. We aim to educate individuals of integrity who possess intellectual competencies and personal qualities that will enable them to take up positions of leadership and service whatever their chosen fields and thereby add to the richness, diversity and welfare of our global society.

Accreditation:
Albright College is fully accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. We know there are lots of colleges out there. Most will offer you the standard list of amenities. But at Albright, we’re not like those other colleges.
All first-year and second-year, full-time students are required to live in campus housing. Coed and single-sex housing is available. First-year students, assuming availability, may reside in the same residences as upper-class students. Albright also has three coed "First-Year Experience" residence halls – Crowell, Smith and Walton Halls.
There are six traditional residence halls. Albright Court, Mohn, Krause, Crowell, Smith, and Walton Halls all offer coed living. Mohn and Walton Halls also have all female floors. Mohn Hall is also the academic honors residence hall, provides break housing accommodations for international students, and is available to students of all class years.
There are two residence hall facilities designated as “special interest housing” – North Hall suites, and Albright Woods apartments. The apartments are intended mainly for juniors and seniors (though some sophomores may be approved for apartment living), and the suites are intended mainly for sophomores and juniors. Returning students must apply to live in these residence halls during housing selection each spring, and undergo a highly selective point system analysis (based on class year, # of semesters lived on campus, academic record, and conduct record) in order to gain approval.
The Albright Experience is a series of events designed to promote students’ participation in Albright’s rich cultural and intellectual life outside the classroom. Each semester The Experience offers a wide variety of lectures, exhibits, concerts, theater, and special events that represent different cultures and points of view. All full-time day students must attend 16 Experience events during four semesters at Albright. The Experience is part of the general studies requirement and is a graduation requirement. This semester’s Experience events are part of the College’s Calendar of Events.
Greek Life:
Greek organizations have a long and rich tradition at Albright College. (The campus’ first fraternal organization for men was Kappa Upsilon Phi in 1900.) All Greek organizations at Albright are required to have a national affiliation. Currently, there are three fraternities, three sororities and one coed service fraternity. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the unifying body for all fraternities and Panhellenic Council unifies the sororities.
The goals of the Greek community are to instill in its individual members the qualities of citizenship, scholarship, service and respect for oneself and others. Any student interested in joining a Greek organization is required to have completed at least three academic courses at Albright with a minimum 2.5 GPA for sororities and 2.25 GPA for fraternities. The Office of Student Activities works with these organizations to provide guidance, continuity and program support.
