Australasian Institute of Applied Studies:
Australasian Institute of Applied Studies (AIAS) was founded in 1998 in Auckland, to meet the demand of students wishing to study Ayurveda, the complimentary health science of India. In 1999, under the guidance of the Principal, Dr. S. Ajit, (B.A.M.S., P.C.A.S.), the Institute recognized the need to establish a quality assurance model of service delivery by becoming a Private Training Establishment (P.T.E), delivering a nationally recognized qualification in Ayurveda under the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (N.Z.Q.A.).

In 2009, it again responded to a demand in the marketplace and using the experience gained from its quality service delivery in the education sector, offered a course in Early Childhood Education. The course attracted a large number of domestic students and through an extensive advertising campaign, also attracted international interest, with students from India, Fiji and the Phillipines applying for admission.

AIAS is registered and accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and meets the requirements of the 1989 Educational Act.

Job Opportunities for Ayurvedic Practitioners::

Graduates will have the ability to work in a number of fields related to Ayurveda, providing Ayurvedic health assessment skills and therapies to the public either through their own clinic/establishments as an Ayurvedic therapist or through existing Health Care Centres. You can provide Ayurvedic Massage, Ayurvedic Musculo-Skeletal Therapy, Shirodhara Therapy or Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselling among other services.

Taylors College Auckland provides specialised university preparation programs in partnership with leading universities in New Zealand. With successful completion of the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY), you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University and Massey University. In 2011, 94% of TAFY students were offered a tertiary place. Our university preparation courses are open to international students and also New Zealand students who don't meet the direct entry requirements for undergraduate degree programs.

There are three study options available for Taylors Auckland Foundation Year. If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, you can take the Intensive (Accelerated) Program. Intake is in April only and the course is 30 weeks.

If you have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects, the Standard Program will be suitable for you. You can start your study in January (40 weeks), July (38 weeks) or August (35 weeks). Our Certificate in Pre-Foundation Studies has been designed to prepare you for academic study at foundation level.
University Preparation & English Language Courses:

- Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY) with 2 program options:

*Intensive (Accelerated) Program: This 30-week program is ideal if you have superior grades in English & relevant subjects and want to fasttrack your pathway to University.

*Standard Program: Study English & 4 elective subjects. 35, 38 or 40 weeks.
 
*Certificate in Pre-Foundation Studies:
Prepares you for academic study at foundation level.
