- Taught By Experienced Professionals
The Court Transcription course will be taught by a professional transcriptionist who has worked as an educator, a court reporter for the Ontario courts, and an Authorized Court Transcriptionist.
After the 14-weeks of in-depth tuition, the final exam takes place at our school in Toronto or at our designated location in Ottawa (depending on your preference).
Court transcription course graduates should be able to accurately transcribe legal proceedings from digital audio recordings by employing a range of techniques:
- Critical listening skills
- Research skills
- Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary
The final exam takes place in-person in Toronto or Ottawa. This program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Online Digital Legal Monitor / Court Reporter Program:
Duration: 4-16 weeks. Students must be aged 18 or over
A Digital Legal Monitor is a type of court reporter who uses audio equipment to record in-court proceedings.
This course is delivered online through the School’s learning management system (LMS), which will contain all of the readings, resources, and coursework. Students are not required to purchase any other material for the course.
Students can work at their own pace through the course material during the 4-month timeframe.
This program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
