The Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP), established in 1965, is an accredited, nonprofit educational organization. TIEP's mission is to provide exemplary English language training and student services to individuals whose native language is not English to prepare them to succeed in a global environment. Instruction is offered at two locations: In Austin, Texas and on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. TIEP instructors are highly-trained professionals with master's or Ph.D. degrees and an average of more than 10 years teaching experience. TIEP is a program of the Texas International Education Consortium, an association of 32 Texas public universities.

Location:

Austin, the capital of Texas, is located in Central Texas along the Colorado River. Austin's excellent universities, recreational and cultural activities, year-round mild weather, and numerous parks and lakes make Austin one of the most desirable places to live and study in the USA.

TIEP services and facilities include assistance with housing, visa counseling, university and college placement, Conversation Club, field trips, cultural activities, access to university libraries and recreational sports facilities, and a computer lab with free e-mail and Internet access.

Programs:

The Texas Intensive English Program has nearly 50 years of successful experience teaching beginning to advanced- level students. Classes are small and multinational, with 8 to 16 students per class and an average of 20 countries represented each semester.

Two programs of study year-round: English for Academic Purposes and English for Communication and Culture. TOEFL and TOEIC preparation courses are also available. TIEP is an Open TOEIC Test Center administers the TOEIC test 12 times per year. In addition, TIEP offers University Express - an accelerated, individualized university preparation program.
