Based in Port Hadlock, Washington, Experience Mission is a Christian mission organization offering a 6 month immersion program in the Caribbean region that starts by serving in one of South Atlanta's toughest neighborhoods before volunteering abroad in Haiti, Jamaica and Costa Rica. Experience Mission also offers a mission program in Africa, that starts in the Native American Navajo Nation of northeastern Arizona, before travelling to South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana. We currently do not provide Spanish classes as part of our program in Costa Rica.

Immersion - Atlanta to Caribbean (6 month program):

Photo of Christian Volunteer Opportunities in Costa Rica / the Caribbean Travel to four countries in six months, experiencing everything from the bustling inner city to the remotest parts of the rainforest. After a week of training and team-building, you'll immediately begin serving in one of South Atlanta's toughest neighborhoods. Then you'll travel to the countries of Haiti, Jamaica and Costa Rica, building authentic relationships and partnering with local leaders to create sustainable change.

Take part in projects that tackle real social, physical and spiritual needs, such as teaching English, organizing kids programs at orphanages, partnering with local churches, organizing water projects and developing micro-finance strategies for the community. Get ready to ask the hard questions about yourself as you examine your relationship with God and others. Take a leadership role on the team and actively participate in shaping the program. Your day-to-day life will vary in each community, so please come with a willing and flexible heart to serve in a variety of ministry opportunities.

Immersion - Navajo to Africa (6 month program):

Begin with training and service on the Navajo Nation of northeastern Arizona, where you will learn how to work together as a team. Then, board a plane for the beautiful countries of South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana, immersing yourself into the life of each community.

The Spanish school in Manuel Antonio , Costa Rica was started in 1992 and is today recognized as one of the best Spanish language schools in Costa Rica. In addition to offering excellent Spanish language programs, you will be hard pressed to find a more beautiful location within Costa Rica. The school itself sits on the side of a mountain overlooking the Manuel Antonio Beach Park Area and the Pacific. Classrooms are comfortable, and are situated both inside the building and outside on the comfortable patio. This school is the perfect option for those who want to get away from to the beaches and natural parks of Costa Rica, while at the same time learning Spanish.
When students arrive at the Spanish school in Manuel Antonio, they are given an oral proficiency interview to determine their level. Based on this interview, they are placed tentatively in one of six levels. Once placed in a class, students will experience the schools' total immersion methodology. Classes are conducted completely in Spanish. The school uses custom designed curriculum and text materials.

Group Classes: 4 lessons per day in class sizes of no more than 6 individuals. Average class size ranges from 4-8 students. During four lessons sessions, students participate actively in a small group environment. Each student is assured attention to their individual academic needs. If total immersion becomes a difficulty, we offer supplemental instruction in English once a week in order to clarify any doubts.
