South Carolina State Museum - Summer Camps:
Located in the heart of downtown Columbia SC, the South Carolina State Museum provides a variety of educational, engineering-based summer camps for kids. Offered in partnership with Engineering for Kids, our summer camps inspire children to build on their natural curiosity by teaching engineering concepts through hands-on learning. Throughout 5 weeks in summer 2014, the museum will present day camps that focus on combining engineering and science with fun for all campers. Each week, the camp days will be broken down into morning and afternoon sessions. Campers are able to sign up for full-day and half-day options. Convenient for kids from Darlington, Lee, Lexington, Richland, and Sumter Counties.
Our summer camps:
- Motivate kids to learn science concepts by engaging them in real-world engineering problems
- Increase kids' desire to explore engineering as a career option
- Encourage kids to discover how things work
- Help children build problem solving skills
