Preschool Programs:
We have four age groups at BrightSky Academy, each offering a unique education program:

- Toddler Program:
The toddler curriculum is based on sensory experiences. Walking, climbing, and exploring are enjoyable activities for this age group. The class will focus on the child's growth, self-esteem, and natural curiosity. Even though they still need a lot of attention to their personal needs, toddlers are beginning to grow independent.

During this phase of their development, their language, mobility, and motor skills are advancing rapidly and can excel in a quality preschool environment that can enhance verbal and cognitive skills. Children are encouraged to join in activities such as singing songs, listening to stories, doing art work, and building social skills through directed indoor and outdoor play with other toddlers.

- Young Beginner Program:
In the young beginners class children are starting to develop socially and create relationships with other children and adults. Learning how to take turns and respecting others is an important part of  the preschool environment. The Young Beginner class will be introduced to an early academic program that introduces letters, numbers and  shapes. The connection of letters to their sounds are reinforced each day through songs, music and fun.

At Brightsky Academy we provide our two-year-old children with hands-on activities and opportunities to learn how to make good choices.  Each child will learn how to work with other children, independently and in teacher directed projects.

- Preschooler Program:
The preschool program teaches through play in a loving, fun environment. Children are offered the opportunity to explore and discover. Curriculum focuses on letter, number recognition while math centers are based on  number concepts to organize, sort, count, build, and sequence. Science centers explore weather, cooking, and sensory activities. Motor skills are developed by games, music, outside play and other activities. We strive to develop an emerging love of reading and writing in our students.

- Pre-Kindergarten Program:
The pre-kindergarten program is an accelerated learning environment. We strive to make every day a learning day, filled with new and wonderful experiences to help young learners find what interests and inspires them. Pre-kindergarten students are eager to learn and we offer thematic units in math, language, science, social studies, art, music and movement to prepare children for kindergarten and their elementary education.

The classroom learning environment is child-centered while having structured routines. Many hands-on learning experiences are presented through out the day. Daily activities are scheduled in large and small groups to provide opportunities to develop social skills.

Our Curriculum:
We offer a quality, academically focused preschool curriculum. Our teachers plan and develop activities that are important to early learning experiences. We purpose to instill a love of learning in our children and a sense of achievement in their classroom. In addition, we believe children learn best when we incorporate play into our learning concepts. We strive to engage children through play activities while practicing and developing social skills.

Children love to learn and create things, so we encourage a creative nature in our teaching curriculum in order to make this possible at BrightSky Academy. We observe and record children's progress and partner with parents to provide the best learning environment for your child's development. Regardless of your child’s age, BrightSky is a safe and culturally sensitive environment where children learn, grow and achieve the skills needed to transition to kindergarten and beyond. Through fun and play children are often unaware of absorbing educational concepts. Your child’s future begins here at BrightSky Academy. We are committed to instilling in our students a passion for learning.
