Located in Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, Spisak Dance Academy offers dance programs for children, teenagers and adults. Programs include ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics, pointe, contemprary dance, lyrical, hip hop. We offer a progressive dance program for all ages and all levels. Spisak Dance Academy was founded in Wickenburg, in 1960 by Ann Spisak, a professional dancer, wanting to provide a dance education for her two daughters. The rest, as they say, is history!
Classes:
We offer a progressive dance program for all ages and all levels. Classes are available for the once-a-week recreational dancer as well as the college-bound or career-minded student.
Kombo Kids:
3, 4, and 5 year-olds not yet in school are given an hour of ballet, tap, and acrobatics. This program aims for development in the following areas: Physical--Large muscle development, small muscle motor skills, coordination, balance, grace, and poise. Emotional-- working with others and instilling the love and appreciation for the art of dance.
K-1:
Kindergarten and 1st grade students are placed in hour-long modified ballet, tap, jazz and acro classes. These classes provide a good transition between the combination classes and the regular dance program.
Ballet:
The foundation for all dance subjects. Students learn proper body placement and alignment. Traditional methods are taught for strengthening technique and style. Hair must be
secured in a ballet bun. Kindergarten and 1st grade students are placed in hour-long modified ballet, tap, and jazz (as a second class) classes. These classes provide a good transition between the combination classes and the regular dance program.
Tap:
Students will develop small muscle motor skills, rhythm, and musicality. Learn traditional as well as up-to-date patterns and rhythms. Great exercise for all ages!
Jazz:
All styles are introduced. Beginning with the traditional Broadway theatre technique, students learn movement in many jazz styles to all types of music.
Specialty Classes:
Classes are also offered in the following dance subjects:

* Pointe
* Contemporary
The teachers include progressions, turns, leaps, partnering, and all other dance movements in their respective classes, giving the students many dance styles and techniques. There may be pre-requites for placement into the specialty classes.
