Meher Montessori School in Altadena (approximately 14 miles from downtown Los Angeles) in Southern CA, is an AMI accredited Montessori school serving children from two and a half through six years of age. Young children who attend our AMI accredited school can learn many academic subjects with ease and joy. The Montessori materials offer the children experiences with phonics, geography, the decimal system, addition, subtraction, geometry, botany, reading, writing, art and other subjects. Because of these excellent academic opportunities, children are usually at traditional first or second grade level when they leave our Primary classrooms and enter our Elementary program.

What is AMI?
AMI, which stands for The Association Montessori Internationale, is the organization founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori, to train teachers in the Montessori Method and accredit schools. Dr. Montessori founded AMI to preserve the authenticity and integrity of her Method. All of our teachers hold the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) diploma in addition to their undergraduate degrees.

The Classrooms:
Children of mixed ages (2 1/2 - 6+) are in each classroom. Each child is free to learn at his own level, pace and degree of interest. Younger and older children learn from each other. Each one is both a student and a teacher.The Montessori materials themselves are actually the teachers in the classroom. Each has a specific skill to develop, quality to demonstrate or fact to reveal. The children are very active learners in such a strong and exciting learning atmosphere.

Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley is a French-English bilingual school in south-west Berkeley in northern Alameda County in the East Bay region of California. We provide a bilingual, international environment where children from preschool through to eighth grade are cared for, stimulated and challenged. We are the oldest bilingual school in the East Bay area. Our graduates go on to top high schools and colleges, and at last count they had lived, worked, and studied in 47 countries worldwide.
