Goals of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School

The goal of Thomas More Prep-Marian High School is to provide in a well-balanced way for each student’s unique intellectual, spiritual, psychological, physical and social needs.

More specifically, the school aims to help the student:
- Develop habits of good practical judgment and using them profitably.
- Develop mature relationships with peers.
- Achieve an appreciation of nature, science, literature and the fine arts.
- Acquire proper habits for maintaining emotional, mental, and physical health and well-being.

Boarding and Day Programs for Boys & Girls (Grades 9-12)
Our challenging and demanding curriculum with advanced placement and college prep courses allows students to develop the cognitive and critical thinking skills that are necessary in order to be successful in today’s society.

Residential Life:

Thomas More Prep-Marian provides an off-campus residential program for boarding students. Marian Hall, the girls' dorm, is located on 13th Street and Nation's Hall, the boys dorm, is located on 6th Street.

Resident students live in dorm facilities and benefit from the supervision and nurturing of committed staff that love and guide them in their school and social activities. Daily study halls, positive boundaries and a safe learning environment create the structure needed to prepare young people for their future.

Extracurricular Activities, Clubs and Organizations:

The primary purpose of all activities is to provide leadership and service opportunities.

At Thomas More Prep-Marian the following interscholastic activities are offered:
- Cross country, track, volleyball, golf football, baseball, basketball, debate, wrestling, student council, concert, choir, band, soccer forensics, softball, Scholar’s Bowl, music ministry, multicultural club, liturgical committee, chess team, KEY club.

Nebraska Christian Schools

Nebraska Christian School (NCS) is an inter-denominational, Christian boarding and day school located west of Omaha in Central City, Merrick County, Nebraska.

NCS offers a full educational program for preschool- Grade 12 with boarding from Grades 7-12. We focus on providing a college preparatory curriculum with AP courses, ACT and SAT and a program of extra-curricular activities and student services.

Additionally, we offer vocational classes such as family & consumer science and industrial arts as well as ESL programs for our international students. We run a four day school week with the fifth day used for special programs, tutoring, study time and trips.

Residence facilities are available for senior high students and mature junior highers which emcompasses grades 7-12. We provide separate dorms for boys and girls. Nebraska Christian admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.

We are approved by the Nebraska Department of Education and are an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) member school.

Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI)
Courses / Programs
Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from Colorado and across the United States.

In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).

TWAI has been serving struggling teens and their families since 2002, with an exceptional degree of success.

We provide an extremely high standard of therapeutic treatment to our students, and offer help for the following presenting issues: poor academic performance, behavioral problems, addictions, low self-worth, spectrum disorders, ADD/ADHD, and attachment disorders among others.

With a passion for helping young people in crisis, our clinical, educational, and operations staff are among the best in the country.

We are a small program (40 students) which means that we are able to provide a truly unique and customized approach for every student.

Typically our on site student to staff ratio is 5:1. The average stay at our residential treatment center is 12 months.

We create a customized program for each student that requires a minimum of 3 months. However, best results for lasting success are realized through 6+ months of treatment.

TWAI graduates average a 3.5 GPA. It is common for a student to complete 1.5 years of course work in 1 year.
Maur Hill-Mount Academy, Atchison
Courses / Programs
Maur Hill-Mount Academy is a Catholic, college preparatory boarding and day school located in Atchison County, northeast Kansas. Maur Hill-Mount Academy educates young men and women in Grades 9-12 in the Benedictine tradition of prayer, work, and love of learning.

MH-MA provides a well-rounded curriculum offering advanced placement courses, college prep SAT and ACT, grade-level requirements, numerous electives and TOEFL courses for international students.

We are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

On campus, there is a young man's residency center (St. Leos) and a lady's residency center (Howard Hall). Rooms are each furnished with a bed, desk, dresser, and closet space, and they are also each individually climate-controlled so students may adjust to their preference.

The boy's center houses 80 students, while 40 reside in the girl’s center. In each, students have access to a kitchen, laundry facility, and lounges.

Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics
Courses / Programs
Situated in Oklahoma City, The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM) is a prestigious two-year residential high school (Grades 11 & 12) designed to educate academically gifted high school students in advanced mathematics and science.

OSSM was created through legislative action in 1983 and graduated its first class of 44 seniors from across the state in 1992. The school currently has 71 juniors, 63 seniors and an ultimate enrollment estimated at 300.

OSSM is located on a 32-acre campus in Oklahoma City, just south of the State capital and across from the medical and research facilities of the Oklahoma Health Center. Classes are held in Lincoln School, a renovated Oklahoma City public school, and students live in a residence hall that was completed in early 1998.

Thunderbird Youth Academy
Courses / Programs
Located in the city of Pryor, Northeastern Oklahoma, Thunderbird Youth Academy is a nationally-recognized co-ed program designed for high school dropouts ages 16-18.

Our 17-month program is offered through the National Guard and the Oklahoma Military Department. Our program comprises of a 22 week (5 1/2 month) Residential Phase followed by a 12 month Post-Residential follow up program with a mentor after graduation.

Thunderbird Youth Academy Cadets will earn 3 high school credits for graduating the program. These 3 credits have been assigned to the 8 core components that make up the core curriculum at TYA.

Students can also participate in the academy’s job shadowing programs, observing and interning in different career fields to gather ideas for future employment.

Located at the base of Colorado's majestic Rocky Mountains, Fountain Valley School of Colorado combines intellectual rigor with a spirit of adventure and exploration.

The school offers a college preparatory program for motivated students who seek a diverse and challenging learning experience within a close-knit and supportive community.

Founded in 1930, FVS provides a co-ed, boarding and day school environment for students in grades 9-12 from across the United States and the world. The School has an 1,100 acre main campus in Colorado Springs and a 40-acre Mountain Campus near Buena Vista, Colo.
