Open Door Christian Schools (ODCS) in Elyria, Lorain County, Northeast Ohio is a premier co-educational, college preparatory school serving Christian families. ODCS provides a challenging curriculum and small class sizes for students from preschool through Grade 12. With an enrollment of over 500 students in preschool, elementary, middle and high school, ODCS is the largest Christian school between Cleveland and Toledo, drawing students from 120 different churches of various denominations. ODCS is the only preschool-grade 12 school system within 60 miles of Elyria to receive accreditation by the Association of Christian Schools International.

Pre-K -12 Academic Programs: 

Open Door Christian Preschool - Ages 3-5 years:

Our purpose is to serve families of preschoolers by partnering with them to prepare their children for future school experiences. We believe children learn best through play. Developmentally appropriate experiences provide the framework for understanding each other and the world around them. Our curriculum is biblically based and uses purposeful play as well as large and small group times. Open-ended activities in learning centers allow children to explore at their developmental level.

Open Door Christian Elementary School - Grades K - 4:
Core Courses: Bible, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Special Classes: Art, Physical Education, Library, Computer, and Music.

Open Door Christian Middle School - Grades 5 - 8:
Core Courses: Bible, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Health, Art
Additional Courses: Marching Band, Concert Band, Spanish Enrichment, Choir, Drama

On-line courses: English, Math, Science and Social Studies (available for 7th and 8th grades)

Open Door Christian High School - Grades 9-12:
All students must meet State of Ohio minimum credit requirements for graduation along with ODCS credit requirements, which include: English, Science, Community Service, Health, Bible, Math, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Electives.

Honors Courses: Students seeking additional challenge may enroll in honors courses. Our students compete in the National Merit Scholarship Program and many have been recognized as finalists or as commended students by the program throughout the school's history.

On-Line Courses: ODCS has a variety of on-line biblically based courses including 42 regular courses and 10 AP courses.

Advanced Placement (AP) Courses: U.S. History, Art History, European History, English Literature and Composition, English Language and Composition, Calculus, Physics, Biology, Statistics and Studio Art.
