Durham University Language Centre:Durham University is a world-class university situated in New Elvet, Durham, North East England, 42 miles (68 Kilometers) south of Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Language Centre offers year long courses in English language proficiency for students hoping to progress to university courses: a lower level Preparatory English Course and a higher level Certificate in English and Academic Study. Alongside the general pre-sessional
programmes, we have a separate Pre-MBA course. Having such tailor-made programmes is an important part of the Language Centre's development plans over the next few years and we have recently been awarded a University 'Enhancing the Student Experience' grant to further develop discipline-specific strands on the Pre-sessional programme. With increasing numbers of international students coming to Durham, these courses have a significant role in the University's Internationalisation agenda.Courses / Programs:
Certificate in English and Academic Study (CEAS) Programme for international students planning to study in Durham and other UK Institutions. The course runs all year round, but there are three points of entry and exit in the year: October - December, January - March and April - June. The course is divided into three terms. Each term is nine and a half weeks long and follows the academic terms of Durham University. We also offer a 10/12 Week MBA Pre-Sessional English course for those entering our MBA programme.
