Enrichment Classes for Homeschoolers in Somerset County, NJ

Raritan Valley Community College:
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) is an accredited, coeducational community college serving Somerset and Hunterdon Counties, New Jersey. The Corporate & Continuing Education Department at RVCC offers daytime classes for children who are educated at home. Subjects include science, computers, fine & performing arts, languages, and more. Our enrichment programs are designed to enhance your child's knowledge and personal growth.

Spanish for Beginners:
Students use the Symtalk method, a visual, fun and at the same time academic teaching method that produces immediate results. Students learn verbal skills and Spanish culture. The class will be held for ages 7-9 and 10-12 from January to March. Ages 7-9 will meet from 11 a.m. to noon and ages 10-12 will meet from 12:10 to 1:10 p.m.

French for Beginners:

Keyboarding:
Students ages 9-12 perfect their touch-keyboarding skills and learn the fundamentals of word processing.

Microsoft PowerPoint - Level 1:
Students ages 13-17 learn one of the most poplar presentation software programs used in business today. Prerequisite: Introduction to Windows 95 or equivalent knowledge.

Smart Web Searching:
Students ages 9-12 learn good searching techniques and are taught how to use search engines such as Yahooligans and Ask Jeeves for Kids.

Fun with Poetry:
Students ages 9-12 are taught how to create imaginative poems.
