Peoria Hebrew Day School:
The Peoria Hebrew Day School (PHDS) in Peoria, Central Illinois, is a Jewish Day School offering Kindergarten to Grade 8 programs. We serve the Reform, Conservative, and Traditional communities of the greater Peoria area, and are open to everyone in the community regardless of religious affiliation for students.
Peoria Hebrew Day School children learn and experience:
- Hebrew as a modern language and a language of prayer
- Jewish life in school through daily prayers, celebration of Kabbalat Shabbat, holidays, and expression of Jewish ethics taught by Dr. Tom Halperin
- A Friday Kabbalat Shabbat service including prayers, readings, stories and songs. Israeli life and culture, is taught by our JFP Schliach twice a week.
Preschool Program:
Our preschool program is open to the community. Taught by Sorah Lansam and Jennifer Wiebrecht. They are vibrant and enthusiastic teachers that are well-connected to the young families of Peoria, and offer a great start for a good foundation in Jewish education.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade Programs:
Daily Life at Peoria Hebrew Day School includes secular and judaic studies along with music and computer lessons and so much more! Our new playground is the perfect spot to spend free time playing with friends and snow is one of our favorites.
3rd to 5th Grade Programs:
3rd through 5th grades are an exciting time of development for our students. We exceed any academic requirements that public schools offer children in the State of Illinois. Our individualized curiculum is taught by certified teachers and includes all secular subjects such as Social Studies, Reading, English, Math, Science, Art, Music and Computer Skills. Students are encouraged to excel in a loving and nurturing environment that does not tolerate any agressive behavior on the part of any student to another.
6th - 8th Grade Programs:
Our 6th through 8th Grade students spend time learning advanced studies with a curiculum tailored to each student. Students are allowed to work at their own pace with accredited teachers in secular subjects. Our subjects include Science, Social Studies, Math, English, Art and our students typically exceed Illinois requirements for education. Small classes and engaged teachers make learning fun and exciting.

The Einstein Academy is a school for academically talented students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through to High School located in Elgin, a suburb approximately 40 miles north-west of Chicago in Kane County in north-eastern Illinois, close to Naperville and Aurora (One block south of I-90 and Route 31 on Davis Road in Elgin). Latin School of Chicago located adjacent to Lincoln Park on the North Side is an independent, co-educational college preparatory school for students in junior kindergarten through to grade twelve. Latin is the oldest independent school in the city of Chicago. The school was designed to provide students with a rigorous college-preparatory education in the classical tradition, with a curriculum that was heavily influenced by classical studies and the study of the Greek and Latin languages, hence the name “Latin School."
