Joliet Catholic Academy:
Joliet Catholic Academy (JCA) is a co-educational Catholic college preparatory high school, co-sponsored by the Joliet Franciscan Sisters and the Carmelites of the Most Pure Heart of Mary. We are located in Joliet in Will and Kendall Counties, Illinois, approximately 40 miles south-west of Chicago. Academic excellence is one of the hallmarks of Joliet Catholic Academy; students are well prepared to attend the college of their choice after moving through JCA's education program. Our diverse curriculum helps students to achieve their maximum intellectual potential, through three academic programs: College Prep, Upper College Prep and Honors / Accelerated. Students will be placed in the program that best meets their needs based on their academic strengths. Students needing special academic assistance may qualify for JCA's Learning Resource program, where students are tutored in small groups by our certified Learning Resource staff.

- Honors Program:  The intent of the Honors Program is to challenge academically gifted and talented students, provide them with a rigorous program to meet their needs, and encourage them to reach their full academic potential.

- Advanced Placement & Honors / Accelerated Program:  Advanced Placement courses are offered to juniors and seniors in English IV, U.S. Government, Calculus, Biology, European History, U.S. History, and Chemistry.

Admissions:

Admission to Joliet Catholic Academy is based on placement test scores, as well as previous academic records. The application form must be completed in order for a student to be considered for admission. In addition, any student hoping to attend JCA must take the placement exam administered at JCA. 

Graduation Requirements:
Students must earn 25 credits to be eligible to receive a JCA diploma. Students must earn 22 credits through required coursework. The balance (3 credits) must be earned by completing elective courses. Each student must also complete a minimum of 60 hours of Christian service.

Latin School of Chicago located adjacent to Lincoln Park on the North Side is an independent, co-educational college preparatory school for students in junior kindergarten through to grade twelve. Latin is the oldest independent school in the city of Chicago. The school was designed to provide students with a rigorous college-preparatory education in the classical tradition, with a curriculum that was heavily influenced by classical studies and the study of the Greek and Latin languages, hence the name “Latin School." Latin is still taught at the school today and is offered from sixth-grade onwards.

This academic load is balanced by a wide array of outside opportunities to play sports; be in the Middle School play; participate on a competitive math, science, or chess team; work on the student newspaper; perform in the band or chorus; be a member of student government; do community service; or participate in any number of other activities.
