UESL Program, Central Washington University

The University English as a Second Language (UESL) Program at Central Washington University (CWU) in Ellensburg, Washington, is located in the center of Washington State in the Northwestern US. Central Washington University is a public university with 8,000 students. Popular majors include business, accounting, education and music. Conditional undergraduate admission is offered and the UESL recommendation is accepted in place of the TOEFL. Interesting courses, opportunities to visit undergraduate classes, and experienced, professional teachers (all have master's degrees in teaching English). After an initial evaluation session, I will recommend a customized program based on your experience, your goals, and your learning style. We will not focus so much on levels (beginner, intermediate, or advanced). Rather, we will focus in two areas: on communicating verbally, and in writing; and on understanding, and being understood. We will use a variety of activities and materials to avoid routine, and will cover topics you are interested in.
